On February 3 (the 6th day of the Lunar New Year), Quang Ninh province launched the "Tree Planting Festival to forever remember Uncle Ho" Spring At Ty 2025 at plot 10, Sub-area 242, community forest area of Dong Dinh village, Phong Du commune, Tien Yen district.
Accordingly, delegates planted 1,000 giổi trees and 100 chay trees in plot 10, Sub-area 242, community forest area of Dong Dinh village, Phong Du commune, Tien Yen district.

Mr. Nghiem Xuan Cuong - Vice Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee said that in recent years, the forest area in the province has always been stable and increased year by year, the quality of the forest has been gradually improved, the forest cover rate has remained stable at 55%. However, in September 2024, Quang Ninh was severely affected by storm No. 3 (super typhoon Yagi), causing many forests to be destroyed, causing great damage to the forestry sector.
According to statistics, storm No. 3 damaged 128,873 hectares of forest in the whole province, the forest cover rate decreased to an estimated 42%, the total estimated damage value was over 5,000 billion VND...

In 2025, Quang Ninh province strives to plant over 31,847 hectares of concentrated forests, including 2,724 hectares of protective forests and 29,123 hectares of production forests. This is an unprecedentedly large number, 2.4 times higher than the 2024 forest planting target, demonstrating the province's strong determination in developing and restoring forestry production after the storm.
The 2025 Spring Tree Planting Festival demonstrates the spirit of solidarity of the ethnic groups in Quang Ninh province to overcome difficulties, challenges, and natural disasters to carry out sustainable reconstruction and restructuring of the forestry sector, bringing the Quang Ninh forest economy to quickly recover and develop in the coming time.

Chairman of the Quang Ninh Farmers' Association Do Ngoc Nam said that in 2024, super typhoon Yagi caused severe damage to the forestry sector of Quang Ninh province with over 128,000 hectares of forest damaged. In the coming time, the Quang Ninh Farmers' Association will coordinate with localities, levels and sectors to quickly rebuild the lost forest area. At the same time, coordinate with specialized units to open training courses, transfer science and technology to plant new tree varieties and medicinal plants under the forest canopy to people.
