Having just got water at the self-service counter, Ngoc Ha (a tourist from Binh Duong) shared that she had to wait 15 minutes for these two simple drinks. This was the first time Ha had visited a sea view cafe in the Bai Dau area (Bai Truoc, Tran Phu street) after seeing many recommendations.
A female tourist from Binh Duong rated the restaurant she sat in today as just okay, about 7/10 points.
"The restaurant is decorated quite simply, mainly attracting customers because of the sea view, the drinks are not too outstanding. Before coming here, I expected more. It's a holiday season so the restaurant is quite crowded, making the wait time for drinks long and it's difficult to find a good seat," Ha said.
Attract customers thanks to the view
Sharing the same opinion with tourists from Binh Duong, Van An (tourist from Ho Chi Minh City) also gave a general comment that coffee shops in this area are attracting customers thanks to the sea view.
An said she had visited two shops along this street and found that they had similar design styles. In addition, it was a holiday season so the shops were receiving a large number of customers, the staff could not clean up quickly, leading to a messy situation where tables and chairs were scattered, and customers had to find their own seats and arrange tables.

According to the reporter, from around 5pm, the number of customers flocking to coffee shops in this area has been increasing. Sharing with Zing , a cashier at a shop said that on April 29-30, the number of customers coming to the shop nearly doubled compared to the weekends.
"The shop is usually crowded in the afternoon, around sunset and evening. In the morning, if customers wake up early, they will also visit the shop to watch the sunrise. The shop is the quietest at noon because the shop is an outdoor space so it is quite hot, mainly groups of friends come to rest before check-in time," said the cashier.
This person added that during peak hours, customers may have to wait 5-10 minutes to get a seat. Especially areas near the beach often fill up quite quickly.
New shops are blooming
Searching on Vung Tau tourism groups with the keywords "sea view cafe" or "sunset cafe", tourists will receive a series of suggestions. Currently, along Tran Phu Street (Bai Dau, Vung Tau City) is where most shops following this model are concentrated.
Thuy Linh, owner of NaLi Beach cafe - one of the first beach view cafes in Bai Dau area - said that not only during this holiday but also on weekends or other holidays, the shop attracts a large number of tourists.
When it first opened, during peak tourist seasons, customers could wait up to 15 minutes for a table and it mainly attracted young customers. However, this model has now been replicated, giving visitors more options.
The owner of another coffee shop in the same area added that these days, the number of tourists visiting the shop accounts for about 60-70%.

"Customers mainly know about the restaurant through introductions on travel groups or social networks. This is also a good sign because this area is already crowded with restaurants with similar models but still attracts a lot of tourists," the restaurant owner said.
To ensure service quality and bring a good experience to visitors, during the April 30-May 1 holiday this year, many coffee shops in Bai Dau have increased their staff. Some shops even said they had to mobilize family members to help arrange vehicles and guide customers.
A tourist from Ho Chi Minh City commented that the sunset cafes have "completely changed the face of Bai Dau". Previously, the number of tourists flocking to this area was still there, but not as crowded as it is now.
Mainly, tourists come to check-in at some famous places such as Tran Phu alley, bougainvillea alley, church... or eat seafood at nearby restaurants.
Not only Bai Dau area, according to the reporter's records, coffee shops along Ha Long road with beautiful views, facing the sea are also chosen by many tourists as a place to relax and take check-in photos.
