Hop Minh bronze jar, one of the largest and most beautifully decorated bronze jars of the Dong Son culture, is currently preserved at the Yen Bai Provincial Museum.
The jar is about 2,000 - 2,500 years old, 47.4 cm high, weighs 13.5 kg, was cast in a two-piece mold and has a rusty green color. The results of spectral analysis at the Institute of Geology of the National Center for Natural Sciences and Technology show the following ratios: Copper: 64.92%; Lead: 0.9%; Tin: 0.72%; Cadmium: 0.1%; Aluminum: 0.02%; Silicon: 0.017%. The results show that Copper, Lead, Tin is a typical alloy of the Dong Son culture in the Yen Bai mountainous region.
