Lively, fresh and youthful are the characteristics of the Street Music program held every Saturday and Sunday evening at Ho Son Lake Park (Tuy Hoa City).
Audiences come to this program not only to immerse themselves in the music but also to relax and enjoy the fresh breeze from the sea blowing in the middle of the hot summer.
Attractive playground
Not as sparkling as art performances performed on grand stages with modern sound, lighting and equipment systems, but Tuy Hoa City's street music stage has its own appeal because of its simplicity and closeness. Just a guitar, a little light... in a corner of the park is enough for musicians and singers to create wonderful melodies. Music seems to erase the distance between singers and the audience, helping everyone to join in the rhythm of music.
Every night, amateur singers brought a variety of colors to the show with impressive performances. Sometimes they were gentle mashups or sweet pop ballads, or romantic boleros. Sometimes they were fiery rock performances, seductive dancesport moves, or captivating hip hop performances to vibrant music, which were warmly responded to and cheered on by many young people.
Nay Tin, a member of the Black Classic band, shared: “Tuy Hoa City Street Music 2023 has brought a new breath to the cultural and artistic movement. Not only the members of our band but also young people in the city have the opportunity to show their musical talents and personalities to the audience. We are even happier and more excited when the audience welcomes, supports and enthusiastically cheers us on during the shows.”
With an open space combined with improvisation, the teams and groups brought the audience attractive performances on the banks of Ho Son Lake. In particular, many young people and children also enthusiastically participated, making this place more bustling and vibrant.
While watching and swaying to the music, Ms. Dang Thi Ha (Ward 8, Tuy Hoa City) happily said: “I find street music very interesting. It is close, rustic, and has diverse genres. I think this is an attractive playground for music lovers.”
Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan (Ward 7, Tuy Hoa City) shared: “I find this space and program wonderful. The program has interaction with everyone. In addition to the fixed performances, there are also interactive performances from many audiences, which are very engaging. The spontaneous interaction with the audience is the catalyst for everyone to come here and burn themselves out with music.”
Building tourism products
Street music was imported from abroad and quickly received by the audience thanks to its open performance space and unique characteristics. The program does not limit the number of participants; flexibility and high interaction between performers and the public. In the same space and time, the audience can enjoy diverse art genres, suitable for many ages.
According to Mr. Luong Thao Nguyen, Director of Tuy Hoa City's Culture - Sports and Broadcasting Center, with the theme "Tuy Hoa - Attractive, friendly and safe destination", the Street Music program aims to create a healthy playground, creating a highlight at night to attract the participation of many classes of people; is a place to connect emotions, relax, and entertain people, tourists, especially young people. This activity creates a joyful atmosphere, expressing the respectful and hospitable feelings of Tuy Hoa people towards friends and tourists; strengthen and promote the image of Phu Yen land and people in general, Tuy Hoa City in particular. The program is held periodically on Saturday and Sunday evenings every week, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Ho Son Lake with many genres such as: singing, dancing, modern dance, hip hop, folk instruments... and other traditional art forms.
“With the aim of bringing music to connect emotions, the Street Music program is one of the night activities on the streets to build tourism products to attract visitors. The program contributes to promoting tourism development, making Tuy Hoa City an attractive, friendly and safe destination,” said Mr. Luong Thao Nguyen.
