Conference on implementing Party building work and production and business tasks in 2025 - Vietnam National Shipping Lines

On the morning of January 20, 2025, Hai Phong Port Joint Stock Company held a conference to deploy Party building work and production and business tasks in 2025; awarding 30-year Party membership badges.

Attending and directing the conference were comrade Le Anh Son - Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam National Shipping Lines (VIMC); representatives of Party Building Committees and VIMC Professional Committees.

On the side of Hai Phong Port Joint Stock Company, there were comrades in the Party Executive Committee, Board of Directors, Executive Board; representatives of the Trade Union, Youth Union, Veterans Association; leaders of functional departments, centers, affiliated units, and subsidiaries of Hai Phong Port.

Comrade Chu Minh Hoang - Member of the Standing Committee, Deputy General Director of the Company presented a report on the results of implementing tasks in 2024; directions and tasks in 2025.

In 2024, besides the difficulties caused by geopolitical instability and armed conflicts; tensions in the Red Sea, the impact of super typhoon Yagi, there are advantages due to improved GDP growth rate, gradual recovery of world market demand, slight increase in domestic consumption demand, and good growth in cargo output in Hai Phong area compared to the same period. The production and business targets of Hai Phong Port all met and exceeded the plan. Consolidated output reached 39.90 million tons (109.3% of the plan and an increase of 5.1% over the same period); Consolidated revenue of VND 2,960 billion (128.1% of the plan, an increase of 17.7% over the same period); Consolidated profit before tax is expected to be VND 1,165 billion (138.7% of the plan, an increase of 27.3% over the same period).

The investment and development of the port in Lach Huyen has been urgently implemented, basically ensuring the set progress. The work of protecting political security and national defense has been maintained. The income and life of cadres, party members, and workers of the entire Party Committee have been ensured and stabilized. The average income of cadres, party members, and workers in 2024 is expected to be about 22 million VND/person/month (an increase of 16.4% compared to 2023).

The Party building work, leadership of socio-political organizations and political tasks have been comprehensively and synchronously implemented by the Party Committee and its subordinate Party Committees with high determination, continuing to maintain Party discipline; cadres at all levels have political mettle, moral qualities, and capacity, basically meeting the requirements of the task; solidarity is maintained; cadres, party members, and workers are excited, assured, and confident in the Party's leadership and the future development of Hai Phong Port and VIMC.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Nguyen Tuong Anh - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, General Director of the Company deployed key tasks in 2025. Therein, focusing on restructuring, changing the governance model to suit the new situation, improving management and operation efficiency; proactively implementing groups of solutions in business, exploitation, closely following the market, effectively implementing the operations of the customer service center established in 2024 to create a breakthrough in customer care. Focusing on investment in expansion and in-depth investment, especially being ready to put TIL Hai Phong Port Company Limited into effective operation as soon as receiving the handover of container terminals No. 3 and 4 in Lach Huyen; promoting innovation, building a customer-centric culture and spreading it widely to member units; Units throughout the port coordinate closely in all aspects of work to strive to complete the Company's common tasks in 2025.

In order to concretize the action program of Vietnam National Shipping Lines, the functional departments, centers, Port branches, subsidiaries, and companies with capital contributions from Hai Phong Port have jointly signed a commitment to build and develop a customer-centric culture, ensuring unity and synchronization throughout the entire VIMC system and guiding all activities of member enterprises in VIMC.

Agreeing with the goals and orientations stated in the report, he believes that with the tradition of a unit with a 150-year history, one of the places with the first Party cell in the country, Hai Phong Port will continue to promote the achievements, concretize the action programs, especially the policy of streamlining the apparatus in the spirit of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW dated October 25, 2017 of the Central Executive Committee; maintain the role as a core unit in the system of Vietnam National Shipping Lines, the driving force for economic and political development of Hai Phong City and the maritime industry.

In 2025, Hai Phong Port needs to continue to improve, do better than what has been achieved and must learn from bad experiences to overcome limitations, not to repeat. To achieve the set goals, consensus is the core factor that creates collective strength, effectively implements all actions and promotes development.

He thanked the attention and close guidance of Vietnam National Shipping Lines, the efforts of the entire staff of the Company so that the Company could take the right steps of development, contributing to the proud achievements of the past year.

In 2025, the Hai Phong Port Party Committee has identified the theme of the year: "Innovation, perfecting the organizational model - Developing infrastructure, science and technology - Promoting innovation, digital transformation, green transformation", with the goal of maintaining growth momentum, improving competitiveness and creating a solid foundation for sustainable development in the future. Hai Phong Port will closely follow the directions of VIMC, Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo to specifically implement into practice; draw lessons from existing problems and limitations, turn challenges into opportunities for breakthroughs. In addition to the key projects that have been and are being implemented, Hai Phong Port will continue to propose investment in other areas according to the planning to expand and develop production and business activities.

With specific solutions and available resources, especially in terms of labor force and traditional customers, comrade Pham Hong Minh believes that Hai Phong Port will excellently complete the assigned tasks.

With the achievements in 2024, Hai Phong Port was honored to receive the Emulation Flag of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises, the 2024 Innovation, Creativity and Digital Transformation Championship Cup of Vietnam National Shipping Lines (with 370 initiatives and Kaizen, bringing cost savings of tens of billions of VND).

Also at the conference, the Company's Party Committee decided to reward 04 Branches and grassroots Party Committees for excellently completing their tasks in 2024. At the same time, the Company's Emulation and Reward Council rewarded the emulation movement "Innovation and Creativity in 2024" to 11 collectives.
