Prince Jaime de Bourbon de Parme affirmed that Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha's visit was of great significance, coming on the occasion of the two countries' 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations, contributing to strengthening the determination to join hands to solve global challenges, including climate change; welcomed the successful organization of IC8 by both sides with many substantive results; and expressed his impression of Vietnam's dynamic socio-economic development in recent times.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha highly appreciated the strong and substantive development of the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and the Netherlands over the past 50 years; affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to promoting the Comprehensive Partnership with the Netherlands and wishes to work with the Netherlands to deepen the framework of the Strategic Partnership on climate change adaptation and sustainable agriculture.

The Deputy Prime Minister welcomed the Netherlands' active and responsible role in promoting global cooperation on climate change; congratulated the Netherlands on successfully co-organizing the United Nations Conference on the Mid-Term Review of the Implementation of the Goals of the Decade of Action on "Water for Sustainable Development" for the 2018-2028 period held in New York in March 2023 with many practical results.

With his experience, role and status as Special Envoy for Climate, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha hopes that Prince Jaime de Bourbon de Parme will encourage Dutch businesses to transfer technology and invest in the fields of climate change adaptation, greenhouse gas emission reduction, energy transition, digital transformation, and smart infrastructure construction in Vietnam; support the development of regulations and financial support to address climate change adaptation issues in Vietnam.

Prince Jaime de Bourbon de Parme highly appreciated Vietnam's strong commitments to responding to climate change, as well as Vietnam's active and responsible participation at the recent Summit on the New Global Financial Compact in France; emphasizing that he will continue to support Vietnam in implementing the Mekong Delta Planning, perfecting the legal framework on water resources management and energy transition.

On this occasion, the two sides discussed international and regional issues of mutual concern. The Dutch Prince highly appreciated Vietnam's foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification, multilateralization and settlement of disputes by peaceful means, based on international law.

Also attending the meeting were representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a number of businesses, investors, and the Netherlands Development Bank. Dutch partners wish to continue expanding their investment in Vietnam in the fields of renewable energy, clean water, equitable energy transition, mangrove and biodiversity restoration, and sustainable agricultural transformation in the Mekong Delta and some areas in the Central and Central Highlands of Vietnam.
