Within the framework of her working trip to attend the Global Women's Summit and bilateral activities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and her official visit to Qatar from May 3-9, on the morning of May 4, in the capital of Abu Dhabi, UAE, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan had a meeting with Director General of the UAE News Agency (WAM) Mohamed Jalal Al Rayssi.
Also attending the reception were Deputy Head of the Office of the President Pham Thanh Ha, Vietnamese Ambassador to the UAE Nguyen Manh Tuan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Do Hung Viet, Deputy General Director of Vietnam News Agency (VNA) Doan Thi Tuyet Nhung, and Assistant to the Vice President Nguyen Dung Tien.
Expressing her delight at meeting WAM General Director Mohamed Jalal Al Rayssi, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan highly appreciated the position and prestige of WAM, one of the leading news agencies in the Middle East.
Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan congratulated and highly appreciated the recent signing of a Professional Cooperation Agreement between VNA and WAM, an important milestone in the cooperative relationship between the two news agencies, especially on the occasion of Vietnam and the UAE celebrating the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations (August 1, 1993 - August 1, 2023).

Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan expressed her belief that, along with the signing of the professional cooperation agreement, the cooperation and information exchange between the two news agencies will be further promoted in many rich, diverse and modern forms of information, thereby contributing to effectively promoting the two countries and regions, and enhancing mutual understanding between the people of Vietnam and the UAE.
The Vice President hoped that, based on the cooperation agreement, VNA and WAM would soon develop and implement specific programs and plans to achieve substantive cooperation results in the coming time in the field of information and communications, such as exchanging delegations of reporters, exchanging journalism skills, social networks, publishing, translation... providing necessary professional support for reporters of both sides, training high-quality human resources in the field of information and communications.

Also on the morning of May 4, in the capital Abu Dhabi, VNA Deputy Director General Doan Thi Tuyet Nhung and WAM Director General Mohamed Jalal Al Rayssi signed a Professional Cooperation Agreement between the two news agencies. This is a very meaningful event as it is held on the occasion of Vietnam and the UAE celebrating the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations (August 1, 1993 - August 1, 2023), and at the same time launching negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement (FTA), promising to bring great benefits to both countries in all areas of cooperation.
Witnessing the signing ceremony were Vietnamese Ambassador to the UAE Nguyen Manh Tuan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Do Hung Viet, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang, Deputy Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Van Hoi, and Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union Tran Lan Phuong.
