Fanti movie poster
This is a rare Vietnamese film that boldly follows the thriller genre, exploiting the theme of digital obsession of young people who want to enter the showbiz spotlight.
Illusion of showbiz halo
Fanti revolves around the story of Anh Duong (Thao Tam), a social media hot girl who is looking for a way to enter showbiz. At the same time, the number of followers on Instagram skyrockets, Anh Duong's life is turned upside down when a stalker appears who often helps her with mysterious actions and ambiguous messages. But is he a fan, or an anti?
"IELTS hot girl" Nguyen Lam Thao Tam plays the main role in the movie
A series of unexpected events and incidents caused Anh Duong to fall into a state of extreme panic. With new content and energy from a young crew, Fanti promises to quench the thirst for Vietnamese films after more than 2 summer months without domestic films in theaters.
Director Andy Nguyen shared his desire to make a "heavy" thriller with heart-stopping and dramatic scenes. In the film's trailer, the character Anh Duong is trying to become a famous actress in showbiz...
People's Artist Le Khanh in the movie
The appearance of People's Artist Le Khanh in the role of Mrs. Hanh - Anh Duong's biological mother also made many people curious. This woman has a dignified appearance, looks quite strict, and every time she speaks, her voice is very firm and "deterrent" to her daughter.
In the trailer, the relationship between Anh Duong (Thao Tam) and Kim Khanh (Ho Thu Anh) is brought to a new level of tension when Ho Thu Anh repeatedly confronts her colleague, openly insults and threatens Anh Duong with harsh words.

The trailer also reveals a series of disturbing incidents, kidnappings, and even horrific murders. Fanti, in addition to heart-stopping moments, is expected to also open up “mind-boggling” scenes for viewers, taking the audience into the most mysterious corners of the unstable psychology of a young girl with many ambitions.
What do the two promising faces say about their roles?
Director Andy Nguyen's thriller marks the impressive return of Thao Tam and Ho Thu Anh after their debuts in cinema with Mat Biec and Sai Gon Trong Con Mua . Sharing about her first leading female role, Thao Tam confided: "Anh Duong is a girl full of contradictions, but Tam feels that those contradictions help Anh Duong become more "human". As a young girl taking her first steps into her first career and complex social relationships, Anh Duong also makes many mistakes, but that doesn't mean she's a bad person. Like any character, Tam thinks that some audiences will sympathize, and some will object. But Tam thinks that everyone will see a part of their own youthful confusion in Anh Duong."

As for Ho Thu Anh, the actress said she was particularly impressed with Fanti 's script because of its thoughtful and timely exploration of the issue of young people and social networks. The project started before the Covid-19 pandemic, so it encountered many problems, prolonging the pre-production stage. According to Ho Thu Anh, she was the last element that the film crew "finalized the role".
“I had to prove to the director and the film crew that, although Ho Thu Anh is not an experienced actress, I can completely master this role. It was my determination and my suitability for the character that convinced the film crew to trust me with the role of Kim Khanh,” Ho Thu Anh said.
