Melissa Nicholson often posts pictures of her five piglets in costume, traveling around the United States, attracting millions of followers because of their cuteness.

Melissa Nicholson, 52, is a preschool teacher and owner of Prissy & Pop's Helping Hooves animal sanctuary in Taylor, Florida, USA.

About 30 years ago, while a student at the University of Alabama, Nicholson held some adorable piglets on a farm trip. "That was the beginning of my love for pigs," she shared.

With this special love, Nicholson built social media accounts for the "mini" pigs Prissy, Pop, Posey, Pink and Penn and attracted a large following on social networks X, Facebook, Instagram (about 1.2 million people and still growing).

These five pigs have captured the hearts of many online users with their themed adventures and adorable costumes. Posey and Pink dressed up as Barbie and Ken with wigs; or the five friends parodying the Friends coffee scene; or the pigs dressed up as sea creatures, ice cream, or music stars.

"We went all over the country together like New Orleans, Washington DC..", Nicholson added about the journey.

Celebrities in the US have also taken notice of these pigs. Singer Miranda Lambert invited Nicholson and his pet to gather backstage at a music show.

Eleven years ago, Nicholson adopted her pet pig, Prissy. A year later, she adopted Pop, and then the others. Nicholson says the pigs cooperate when it comes to photoshoots, as they are paid in treats.

Pigs are loved by American netizens for their extremely adorable appearance and expressions.

Initially, only Nicholson’s preschool students were interested in the pigs when they arrived in class. However, after posting a few photos on social media, Nicholson realized that netizens were also very interested in these pigs.

“At first I thought if 500 people seemed interested in it, I would keep posting. I didn’t think about becoming a social media star,” Nicholson shared.

Over the years, her pig following grew and she was delighted to see fans enjoying the positive vibes her photos and videos brought. With the money she earned from social media, Nicholson opened an animal sanctuary to help wildlife.
