During this term, the province focuses heavily on the task of planning tourist areas and spots, closely following the Tuyen Quang Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050. These realistic and high-quality plans are the basis for building technical infrastructure systems, attracting investment resources and building tourism products.
Early, accurate and correct planning
Based on the potential and strengths of tourism in the area, in the past year, Tuyen Quang province has always made large and bold plans for tourism development. Resolutions of the 15th, 16th and 17th Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Congresses have identified tourism development as one of the province's socio-economic breakthroughs.
Immediately after the Congress, the Provincial Party Executive Committee issued Resolution No. 29-NQ/TU dated June 16, 2021 on developing tourism into an important economic sector of the province.
The Provincial People's Committee issued the Project on tourism development in Tuyen Quang province to 2025 and orientation to 2030; Project on developing typical tourism products in Tuyen Quang province for the period 2023 - 2030; Project on innovation in organizing Thanh Tuyen Festival for the period 2023 - 2025 and the annual tourism development plan to continue exploiting the province's tourism potential and strengths. The Provincial People's Council issued many important resolutions on tourism development, of which the typical one is Resolution No. 09/2021/NQ-HDND dated December 20, 2021, regulating a number of policies to support tourism development in Tuyen Quang province.
Tuyen Quang determines that local tourism planning must be consistent with the general socio-economic planning of the province, regional and national planning. The province implements the Prime Minister's Master Plan for the development of Tan Trao National Tourist Area, Tuyen Quang Province to 2030. According to the plan to 2025, Tan Trao tourist area basically meets the criteria of a national tourist area; strives to become a national tourist area by 2030 with a synchronous technical infrastructure system, high-quality tourism products, branded, competitive and become one of the leading cultural and historical tourism centers of the Northern midland and mountainous region and the whole country. The development area of Tan Trao national tourist area is under the administrative scope of Son Duong and Yen Son districts. The core area focusing on developing the national tourist area is 2,500 hectares in the landscape protection area of the relic.
In addition, the province also implemented the planning for the construction of the revolutionary base area of ATK inter-provincial Thai Nguyen - Tuyen Quang - Bac Kan until 2030, which was approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 419/QD-TTg dated March 17, 2016. According to the Prime Minister's Decision, the ATK planning area has an area of about 5,692 km2, including 8 district-level administrative units: Dinh Hoa, Dai Tu and Phu Luong of Thai Nguyen province; districts: Son Duong, Yen Son, Chiem Hoa and Tuyen Quang city of Tuyen Quang province; Cho Don district of Bac Kan province.
In addition, the Prime Minister recently issued the Planning for the Northern Midlands and Mountains region for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050. It highlights the focus on building and renovating key projects of great cultural and historical significance for the locality and the whole country such as Tan Trao Special National Relic Site (Tuyen Quang), Dinh Hoa Safe Zone (Thai Nguyen), Dien Bien Phu Relic Site (Dien Bien). In which, Tuyen Quang belongs to the central sub-region along with 5 provinces of Phu Tho, Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Ha Giang, Lai Chau will focus on developing tourism to become a spearhead industry of the sub-region and the region. The Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang - Phu Tho - Hanoi economic corridor connects the central sub-region with the capital Hanoi, gateways, the Red River Delta and the Southwest region of China...
Revealing the core of tourism in the province
Regarding the province's tourism development policies, guidelines, and planning, they are very clear. Provincial, regional, and national plans all indicate that Tuyen Quang has great potential for tourism, the basis for developing it into an important economic sector of the province. Comrade Le Thanh Son, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that the province is focusing resources on planning and building infrastructure for the Tan Trao National Special Relic Site to basically meet the criteria of a National Tourism Site in the coming time; My Lam Mineral Spring Resort is a high-class eco-resort; building and developing Thanh Tuyen Festival as a unique, distinctive tourism product with a national brand; the Na Hang - Lam Binh National Special Landscape Site is a center for eco-tourism, community tourism, and discovery tourism with a national brand...
According to Mr. Son, tourism planning will serve as the basis for orienting tourism development for regions and localities, in line with the strategy and planning for economic and social development of the province and the country. Planning contributes to the exploitation and rational and effective use of tourism resources. Ensuring connectivity between localities in the region and between regions in the country. Increasing the participation of agencies, organizations, communities and individuals in the planning process; harmoniously combining the interests of the State and the interests of the community, between the interests of the region and the locality. Improving the scientific nature and application of modern technology in the process of tourism planning; meeting standards and regulations and in line with the requirements of economic and social development and international integration of the country.
In order to achieve the tourism planning objectives, Tuyen Quang province has directed sectors, localities and functional agencies to deploy many synchronous solutions, helping tourism growth to be quite good, with the number of visitors to Tuyen Quang in 2023 reaching over 2.6 million. The locality has formed a number of outstanding, unique and attractive tourism areas, destinations, products and services. In addition to the advantages, the province's tourism has also been severely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and the consequences of typhoon Yagi. However, with a medium and long-term strategy, Tuyen Quang tourism is still on the right track.
