According to the case file, on the evening of June 15, after watching news on Facebook, which included clips recording images of local authorities in the Central Highlands working with some ethnic minorities regarding land and property compensation issues, PTT shared 2 posts with 2 clips on his personal Facebook.
It is worth mentioning that the content accompanying the two clips was fabricated by T. about the cause of the incident in which some reckless individuals used guns to attack the government headquarters of two communes in Dak Lak province in the early morning of June 11.
On June 16, Que Son District Police verified and invited T. to the headquarters of the authorities to work.
Here, T. admitted his wrongdoing and removed the two posts with the above violating content.
Previously, the Internal Political Security Department (Quang Nam Provincial Police) issued a decision to administratively fine Mr. TR (38 years old, residing in Hoi An City, Quang Nam) 5.5 million VND for providing fake information, false information, distorting, slandering, and insulting the reputation of organizations and honor and dignity of individuals.
At 11:00 a.m. on June 11, Mr. R. watched the news on the "Government Information" page, which posted an article with the content "Arresting a group of people who used guns to attack the commune police headquarters in Dak Lak".
Then, Mr. R. used his personal Facebook to share the above article with comments that were untrue, distorted, slanderous, and insulted the reputation of the organization in a public sharing status.
