OpenAI Officially Releases ChatGPT on Android Platform

OpenAI officially released ChatGPT on Android platform in the US, India, Bangladesh and Brazil markets.

ChatGPT represented the most successful explosion of an Internet application until the advent of the social network Threads.

Android users in the US, India, Bangladesh, and Brazil can now download and install the ChatGPT app on their smartphones. Other countries will receive the release in the near future, similar to how ChatGPT launched on iOS on iPhone and iPad this past May.

Open AI's latest large language model, GPT-4, is powered by Microsoft's Bing AI — a chatbot available on Android. Meanwhile, Google's Bard AI is currently available as a browser rather than a dedicated app.

While many tech companies have released AI-powered tools on mobile apps, tech giant Apple has yet to launch its own chatbot. Bloomberg, citing internal sources, recently reported that the "Apple House" is testing a chatbot internally.

According to CNBC, data from Sensor Tower shows that ChatGPT and Bing app installs dropped by 38% in June 2023, while data from SimilarWeb recorded a 9.7% drop in traffic to chatbot websites, along with a significant decrease in the amount of time users spent on the site.
