Kim Jong Un criticizes the West over Ukraine issue

(CLO) North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said the US and the West are using the Ukrainian army as an "attack force" against Russia and risk causing a global conflict, according to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on November 18.

At the 4th Conference of Battalion Commanders and Political Commissars of the Korean People's Army (KPA), Kim Jong Un said: "The war against Russia, in which the US and the West use Ukraine as an attack force, is a war aimed at enhancing their actual combat experience and expanding the scope of their global military intervention."

"Until today, the 'war merchants' continue to provide military aid to Ukraine and Israel, and continue to support the war," the North Korean leader noted.

"As more and more countries are involved, the growing instability could lead to World War III and the global situation is approaching a dangerous threshold," he added.

Kim Jong Un has declared that his country will strengthen its nuclear weapons defense capabilities "without limit".

His warning came after North Korea ratified a landmark defense pact with Russia, formalizing months of tightening military ties between the two countries.

On November 17, senior Russian lawmakers also warned that the decision by the outgoing administration of President Joe Biden to allow Ukraine to strike deep into Russian territory with long-range US missiles would escalate the conflict in Ukraine and could lead to World War III.
