Berlusconi is the historic president of Milan, who took the Rossoneri to the top of the world after saving the club from bankruptcy.

In March 1986, Berlusconi completed the purchase of 51% of Milan's shares for 6 billion lira. Ten days later, he bought all the remaining shares to officially own the struggling red-black team in Serie A (Milan was only ranked 7th out of 16 teams in the 1985-1986 season).

One of his greatest prides was the recruitment of Ruud Gullit from PSV, accompanied by Marco Van Basten from Ajax. A year later, Frank Rijkaard arrived at San Siro.

The "Flying Dutch" trio led Milan to the most successful period in the club's history under Sacchi's leadership. In 1988, the top three places in the European Ballon d'Or voting were all Milan's "Flying Dutch" trio.

During their 5 years playing for Milan, the "Flying Dutch" trio achieved unprecedented results. An invincible force on the pitch, with 2 Scudettos and 2 prestigious European championships.

From being on the verge of bankruptcy and in a middle position in Serie A, during Berlusconi's 31 years in power, Milan won 8 Scudetto, 1 National Cup, 7 Italian Super Cups, 5 C1/Champions League titles, 2 Intercontinental Cups, 5 UEFA Super Cups and 1 Club World Cup, with a total of 29 official titles in 31 years; together with 5 Golden Balls: Ruud Gullit, Marco van Basten, George Weah, Andriy Shevchenko and Kaka.
