The focus of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at the 2024 Paris Olympics on July 30 will be the Quarter-final competition of Rowing, with the participation of rower Pham Thi Hue.
The quarter-finals of the women's heavyweight single sculls event this time have 4 rounds with the participation of a total of 24 rowers and Pham Thi Hue will compete in the second round.
She will compete against rowers from Mexico, the Netherlands, Germany, Paraguay and an independent. The top three rowers from each Quarterfinal heat will advance to Semifinal A for a chance at a medal, while the remaining rowers will enter the final qualifying group.
This is the first time Pham Thi Hue has officially competed at an Olympic Games and she is aiming for the semi-finals.
If she can do this, Pham Thi Hue will become the first Vietnamese Rowing athlete to achieve this result in a single sculls event at the Olympics.
Pham Thi Hue's competition will take place at 2:40 p.m. (Vietnam time).
The remaining athlete of the Vietnamese delegation competing on July 30 is badminton player Le Duc Phat.
He will face opponent Fabian Roth (Germany) in the first match of the group stage (Group K).
Duc Phat's goal is to win against their opponents to gain an advantage in the competition to find a place in the knockout round after the group stage.
Le Duc Phat's debut will take place at 8:20 p.m. (local time, ie 1:20 a.m. on July 31, Hanoi time)./.
