Touching Happiness is one of three Vietnamese films released to audiences on the occasion of September 2nd this year. The film interweaves a story about family love with current issues such as the desire to leave the countryside to become rich, the painful consequences of pressure from studying, stocks, virtual money...
The film brings together a cast of talented actors such as People's Artist Nhu Quynh, Meritorious Artist Quang Teo, Meritorious Artist Ho Phong, Meritorious Artist Doi Anh Quan, Quach Thu Phuong, Tu Oanh...
Director Mai Long's film takes the audience through many different levels of emotions, sometimes humorously making the audience laugh, sometimes deep with sadness, sometimes moved to the point of suffocation by tragedies, and poignant with the simple philosophy of everyday life "women in love at any age are foolish"...
“I’m just afraid of not knowing how to attract audiences to the theater, I don’t have any experience. But when audiences come to the theater, I’m confident in the quality of my film,” director Mai Long affirmed.
"Touch Happiness" brings together a cast of famous actors.
For more than 100 minutes in theaters, the audience cried and laughed with each character in the film. In particular, the role of Meritorious Artist Quang Teo surprised many viewers. Different from the humorous image, the actor's role of Mr. San brought many tears to the audience.
A plus point of the film is the poetic and majestic landscapes of Northern Vietnam that director Mai Long cleverly promoted: Raspberry Hill, Ha Long Bay, Lan Ha Bay, Long Coc tea hill...
Chairman of the Vietnam Cinema Association - Do Lenh Hung Tu highly appreciated the healthy content of the film, especially the scenes and soundtrack.
“The film’s scenery is very beautiful. Both the set and the existing scenery are very poetic. I really like the film. However, it is not clear whether the film will have a large audience or not. Because each film is like a gamble. While the author takes great care, whether the audience will go see it or not depends on many factors, such as advertising, taste... But I believe this is a healthy film.
This is Mai Long's first film, a commendable effort. I hope Mai Long will go further. The soundtrack is very good," the chairman of the Vietnam Cinema Association shared.
Actress Quach Thu Phuong brought many tears to the audience.
He also did not hesitate to share a few comments: "If only the film had more silent moments, the audience would understand better."
"I sympathize with this film. We need films like this. Films that aim at human values, towards love and goodness. The film moved me with the noble and kind feelings between people, even neighbors, despite the adversity, they all look at life with sympathy," he expressed.
Touching Happiness by director Mai Long was released on the occasion of National Day, September 2nd and is being shown in theaters nationwide.
