YenBai - The digital transformation process is taking place strongly and affecting all aspects of social life. Keeping up with the trend, many members of the Farmers' Association in Yen Bai have boldly changed their awareness and working methods, proactively improving their knowledge of digital transformation to get closer to smart agriculture.

With just an integrated smartphone, Mr. Pham The Dat - Head of the Clean Vegetable and Fruit Cooperative in Trung Tam village, Yen Phu commune, Van Yen district, can connect with customers and check the quantity of goods delivered to customers according to the addresses of the members. In addition to applying digital technology to sell online, the Cooperative also installs and uses an automatic watering system, ensuring that the vegetable and fruit garden with a total area of over 5 hectares is always green and lush.

Manager Dat shared: "To effectively apply advanced technology to production, whenever vegetables and fruits grow poorly or have waterlogged roots, I take pictures and send them via Zalo to the technical transfer unit so they can advise on how to handle it, and then become proficient. We also post images and clips of the products on the Fanpage, Zalo, and Facebook for widespread promotion."

In the digital environment, Mr. Dat and the members of the cooperative also promptly update market demand and prices, learn more techniques, to create safe products for consumers. The cooperative also uses electronic production diary software and production cost accounting software - accounting in production and cooperative management. Thanks to that, the products of the cooperative are consumed as soon as they are produced, bringing stable income to the members.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Van - President of the Farmers' Association of Van Yen district said: "From dynamic members like Mr. Dat and members of the clean vegetable and fruit cooperative in Trung Tam village, Van Yen, specialized production areas have been formed with key agricultural and forestry products, of which 38 products have met OCOP standards, 130 products have been put on the electronic trading floor. This is also the basis for the Farmers' Association to continue to change the production and trading methods of agricultural products towards applying high technology, keeping up with the industrialization process".

With a sharp mind, Mr. Le Van Minh's family in Kha Linh village, Dai Minh commune, Yen Binh district used a smartphone to introduce the family's grapefruit products. Currently, Mr. Minh's family has over 2 hectares of grapefruit with about 800 trees in the harvest period. During the care process, Mr. Minh's family used biological products, organic fertilizers combined with the care process according to VietGAP standards, so the garden grew well, the grapefruits were round and beautiful. Therefore, when applying sales on social networking sites, Mr. Minh's family's grapefruit products were consumed quite favorably.

Determining that successful digital transformation must start with farmers, in recent times, the Provincial Farmers' Association has organized many training conferences, guiding digital transformation for cooperatives, promoting the search and introduction of digital transformation platform providers so that cooperatives and cooperatives can proactively connect and choose suitable solutions and applications in cultivation and animal husbandry, proactively linking with research centers, scientific institutes, and businesses to coordinate in transferring applications of biological products, linking sustainable production development with environmental protection, and building models of high-yield and effective plants and animals.

At the same time, the Association has promoted propaganda, mobilization, and support for agricultural producers to open accounts for introduction, purchase, and sale on e-commerce platforms; and implemented a communication program on agricultural and rural digital transformation for members. Up to now, the Provincial Farmers' Association has coordinated with the Yen Bai Provincial Post Office to create over 30,000 purchase and sale accounts for farming households on the Postmart.vn e-commerce platform, introducing 3,550 products, of which 193 OCOP products have been recognized as achieving 3-4 stars.

To continue supporting farmers to register to participate in e-commerce platforms to connect, promote, introduce products, and expand the market for agricultural products, in the coming time, the Provincial Farmers' Association will continue to pay attention to training and providing digital skills for agricultural production households; support and connect production households to bring agricultural products to e-commerce platforms; train and guide households on digital skills and how to use smart mobile devices during transactions; deploy solutions on traceability of goods on the platform to introduce and promote to domestic and international customers...
