Mr. Modi proactively proposed to meet and discuss directly with Mr. Trump, proactively raised the issue of overcoming India's trade surplus with the US, proactively lowered many tax lines on US goods exported to India. In particular, Mr. Modi also proactively proposed new ideas and cooperation projects with the US in the fields of energy, weapons procurement, defense and security.
