After more than 3 years of implementing the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development for Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2025 period (Program 1719), Lao Cai province has focused resources and effectively implemented component projects. Thanks to that, the "1719 projects" have appeared in the highland districts, contributing to promoting local socio-economic development.
The grade 4 classroom building of Ta Thanh Primary Boarding School (Muong Khuong) was built and put into use a long time ago, but has deteriorated a lot, affecting the quality of teaching and learning. Although it has been proposed many times, it was not until the 1719 Program that the construction of this new classroom building was implemented. Currently, the newly built, spacious, 3-storey classroom building with 12 classrooms and 3 functional rooms has been put into use to replace the degraded grade 4 building.
Teacher Cao A Củi, the school’s principal, confided: It is impossible to describe the joy of teachers and students when the new classroom building was put into use. This is the deep concern of the Party and State for the cause of education in the mountainous areas as well as for ethnic minority students in the poor commune of Ta Thang.
Like Ta Thang, 260 teachers and students of Hoang Thu Pho 2 Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities and Sin Giao Ngai Kindergarten, along with 83 households in Hoang Thu Pho commune (Bac Ha) benefited from the domestic water supply project in Ban Pay village invested under Program 1719.

By the end of 2023, from the capital of Program 1719, the province has invested in 26 centralized domestic water supply works with 3,560 beneficiary households; 18 traffic works to the commune center, with a length of 124 km; 290 rural traffic works, with a length of 714 km; 12 bridge works; 1 commune health station; 2 rural market works; 1 irrigation work; built 51 school works with 300 classrooms, 253 subject rooms; 219 boarding rooms, 60 teachers' houses, 4 warehouses; 32 ethnic cultural activity houses, 25 toilets, 17 kitchens, 27 multi-purpose houses.
The 1719 projects were invested according to the wishes and needs of the people, so they have been effective after investment, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of ethnic minority areas.
