Starting at 5am on February 12, thousands of people lined up at the Tran Temple seal distribution points. When asked about the meaning of the four words “Tich phuc vo cuong” engraved on the seal, most people replied that they went to get the seal according to custom with the hope that peace and fortune would come to their families, without understanding the meaning of these four words.
At around 4:30 a.m. on February 12, although the Tran Temple Festival Organizing Committee had not yet announced the time to distribute the seals to the people and visitors from all over, many people lined up in the hope of being the first to receive the seals.
In the Tran Temple grounds, some people still fall asleep on stone benches.
At nearly 5 a.m., the areas distributing seals at Giai Vu's house, the exhibition house, and Trung Hoa temple were all crowded with people. Those requesting seals included all ages, from young to old, men and women.
The organizers continuously broadcasted announcements on loudspeakers to announce the number of seals that were enough to distribute to all the people. The Seal Opening Festival is a cultural custom of humanistic significance for the King to worship heaven, earth, and ancestors, expressing his sincere gratitude to the country, his ancestors who built and defended the country. At the seal distribution area in front of Thien Truong Temple, because it was the most crowded place, there was always a state of jostling.
After taking the seal, people will pray for wealth, peace and luck.
In the past, many people thought that the Tran Temple Seal was issued by the Tran Kings to mandarins and meritorious people, so it implied the granting of wealth and promotion. However, according to cultural researchers, this understanding is not true to the original nature and meaning of the Seal Opening and Distribution Festival that has been maintained and organized by the people of Tuc Mac village, Nam Dinh city from ancient times to the present.
The meaning of the four words “Tich phuc vo cuong” engraved on the seal that the Tran Kings gave to their descendants is that they want to spread blessings to all people, teach the people to preserve family traditions, discipline, and morality, and must accumulate blessings well and sufficiently so that future blessings can be enjoyed sustainably. This is the profound educational meaning of the Tran Kings giving out seals.
According to a survey by Dan Viet reporters, when asked about the meaning of the four words "Tich phuc vo cuong" engraved on the seal, most people answered that they went to get the seal according to custom with the hope that peace and fortune would come to their family, but did not know what the four words on the seal read or what their meaning was.
Ms. Le Thi Xuan (49 years old, Thanh Hoa province) said: "I do not know the meaning of the words on the Tran Temple seal, I went to get the seal according to custom and habit with the hope that peace and fortune will come to my family. I came here since 7 pm the night before and luckily I was the second person to ask for the seal".
With the same answer, Mr. Le Tien Phuc (29 years old, Hung Yen province) said, we went to get the Tran Temple seal according to custom with the hope of having good luck and success in life, but we did not know the meaning of the words on the Tran Temple seal.
