(Dan Tri) - Man Utd and Tottenham are near the relegation zone, making tonight's match important for both clubs. The erratic form of the two teams makes the match unpredictable.
Tottenham Hotspur host Ruben Amorim's Manchester United in the Premier League's top-of-the-table clash in North London on February 16. A win over the Red Devils would see Tottenham leapfrog their rivals into the bottom half of the Premier League table, although both teams are still in danger of relegation.
Back after the north London derby with Arsenal in September, manager Ange Postecoglou claimed he always won trophies in his second year in charge, a bold claim that his managerial history backs up.

However, in just four days earlier this month, the Australian side's attempt to fulfil that prophecy suffered two major setbacks as they lost to Liverpool in the semi-finals of the League Cup and were then eliminated from the FA Cup in the fourth round by Aston Villa.
However, Tottenham's first trophy since 2008 could still come in the Europa League. Before suffering a painful domestic cup double, Tottenham escaped the Premier League deadlock against London rivals Brentford.
Victory over Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium ended Tottenham's miserable run of four defeats and seven winless games in the top flight, where the aim now is to end the embarrassing run of form at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
In fact, Postecoglou's side have gone three months without winning a Premier League home game, drawing two and losing five of their last seven games in front of their own fans, despite scoring in all of them.
Only Everton have failed to score an away goal against Tottenham in the 2024-25 Premier League season. However, Postecoglou is yet to lose to United in the competition and could become the fourth manager - after Unai Emery, Ruud Gullit and Nuno Espirito Santo - to go unbeaten in their first four Premier League games against the Red Devils.
Similar to the home team, Man Utd also scored in stoppage time of the FA Cup fourth round match. However, while Mathys Tel's effort for Tottenham was a consolation goal, Harry Maguire's goal for the "Red Devils" was the decisive and controversial goal.

The former Leicester centre-back rose highest to head home a free-kick to give Amorim's side a hard-fought 2-1 win over Leicester. However, had VAR been in place, his goal would have been ruled out for a clear offside.
While Ruud van Nistelrooy fumed about the refereeing, Man Utd fans were delighted as the team won their sixth of their last eight games in all competitions, a significant improvement as they are also chasing Europa League glory.
However, the 20-time English champions suffered a 2-0 home defeat to Crystal Palace on 2 February, their seventh defeat in 11 Premier League games, making the trip to London a difficult one for Ruben Amorim's men and it would be no surprise if they were to lose again.
Before their 4-3 Carabao Cup quarter-final win in December, Postecoglou's Tottenham proved too strong for Erik ten Hag's United in a 3-0 win at Old Trafford, meaning they can now beat the Red Devils twice in the Premier League for the first time.
Squad information
With his squad hit hard by injuries, coach Postecoglou has received good news as several key players could return for the match against Man Utd.
On Friday, Postecoglou confirmed that Guglielmo Vicario and Destiny Udogie are on track to return to action for the first time in 2025. James Maddison and Brennan Johnson are also likely to return from calf injuries, while Wilson Odobert and Timo Werner have started training but will need more time to fully recover.

However, Micky van de Ven (thigh), Cristian Romero (thigh), Dominic Solanke (knee) and Richarlison (calf) remain sidelined. Radu Dragusin has undergone successful surgery on his anterior cruciate ligament and will be out for the rest of the season.
On the Man Utd side, Lisandro Martinez is also recovering from surgery and will miss the match against Tottenham. Other players such as Luke Shaw (calf injury), Mason Mount (thigh injury), Jonny Evans (back injury), Tom Heaton and Altay Bayindir are also unable to play. Coach Amorim revealed that the team has "one or two problems" related to Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte and Toby Collyer.
While Ugarte and Collyer have not been ruled out of the squad, Mainoo is set to be sidelined for a number of weeks. It has also been reported that striker Amad Diallo could miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury.
In the recent cup tie against Leicester, new signing Patrick Dorgu made a surprise debut on the right wing before being replaced by Alejandro Garnacho at half-time. Garnacho impressed and could be in line to start today.
