Nowadays, wooden materials for building stilt houses are increasingly scarce, people are gradually switching to building concrete stilt houses with structures and designs similar to traditional stilt houses and ensuring people's living habits.

In Phuong Thien commune, Ha Giang city, Mr. Mai Xuan Thang's family in Tien Thang village built a concrete stilt house and put it into use 5 years ago. With the traditional 3-room, 2-wing architecture, for more convenience in living, his family also built additional rooms, kitchen, and private bathroom. Under the floor, a surrounding area was built to create more common living space.

Compared with wooden stilt houses, concrete stilt houses have many advantages.

Compared to wooden stilt houses, concrete stilt houses have many advantages: Construction costs are cheaper, about half that of wooden stilt houses. Long-term use can be up to hundreds of years, contributing to forest protection, especially preserving the traditional culture of the nation.

Building a concrete stilt house both preserves the cultural beauty of the stilt house and can solidify the house to ensure long-term use.

When building concrete stilt houses, people still rely on the method and layout of a traditional stilt house. This is an effective solution to both preserve the cultural beauty of the stilt house and to solidify the house to ensure long-term use. Not only meeting the criteria for housing, concrete stilt houses with green and red corrugated iron roofs are creating clear highlights in the new rural construction program in localities.

Reinforced concrete stilt houses improve the appearance of villages and hamlets, contributing to the construction of new rural areas in localities.

For the Tay ethnic group, reinforced concrete stilt houses aim at many positive goals, from preserving traditional cultural features, to limiting environmental impacts, negative impacts on natural forests, improving the appearance of villages and hamlets, and contributing to building new rural areas in localities.
