However, after the procedure, Ms. M’s eyes began to swell and become painful. She went to a beauty salon but did not receive a reasonable explanation or treatment for the complications. She had to go to many medical facilities before coming to the Central Dermatology Hospital.
"Although the patient only injected the outer eyelid area, if not treated promptly, it can cause perforation, scarring, contraction of the lower eyelid, and open eyelids... affecting aesthetics and function," said Dr. Nguyen Quang Minh, Deputy Head of the Department of Stem Cell Research and Application, Central Dermatology Hospital.

Dr. Minh warns that currently, injecting meso collagen powder has become a trend, attracting many women who want to beautify themselves, however, the risk of complications with this beauty method is very high.

Sharing the same opinion, Dr. Hoang Thanh Tuan, Deputy Director of the Aesthetic Center, 108 Central Military Hospital said: Recently, the Center also transferred the thread powder technique from a licensed company, however, the number of clinical cases to evaluate safety is not high.
"New products that are being developed and are allowed to circulate but do not have FDA certification should not be widely used. Women who want to beautify themselves need to learn carefully when choosing beauty techniques, avoid following trends to lose money and get sick," said Dr. Tuan.
