On the last day of the year, many households in Ho Chi Minh City urgently demolished their houses to hand over the construction site for the Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road project.
The Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road project was started at the end of 2022, invested by the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Traffic Board). This project directly connects traffic from Hoang Van Thu Park, Truong Chinh Street to Terminal T3 of Tan Son Nhat Airport, with a total investment of more than 4,800 billion VND.
This project was expected to be completed in 2024, but due to site clearance problems, the progress was "broken".
However, today (December 31) - the last day of 2024, as recorded by VietNamNet reporters , there have been optimistic signs when the biggest bottleneck of this key traffic project has been gradually resolved.
Previously, the contract for building roads, retaining walls, sidewalks, drainage and widening Truong Chinh Street at the end of the connecting road was stuck with 68 residential sites since the end of November.
However, currently, a series of households in Ward 13, Tan Binh District are busy demolishing their houses to hand over the land. In particular, at the corner of C12 - Nguyen Duc Thuan Street, 12 houses within the project area have been almost demolished.
Mr. Le Xuan Khanh (64 years old) said his family is one of 9 households on C12 Street that must be completely cleared to implement this project.
“My house has an area of 64 square meters, my family has received compensation and a resettlement plan. We are ready to hand over the land so that the city can soon complete the important project to help connect Tan Son Nhat airport,” Mr. Khanh shared.
In the Tran Van Du street area, many households have also begun to demolish their houses to hand over the land for the connecting road project. The atmosphere of the last day of the year here is quite bustling.
February 2025 complete site handover
Speaking to VietNamNet reporter, Mr. Le Huu Tuan - Deputy Head of the Compensation and Site Clearance Board of Tan Binh District - informed that the project has 85 affected cases, including 68 households and 17 units and organizations. The total area of recovered land is 133,234.1m2.
Up to now, the District People's Committee has handed over the land of 17 units and organizations to the investor to construct the project, with a total recovered land area of 130,305.44m2 (reaching a rate of 97.8%).
Previously, on December 13, Tan Binh District issued a decision approving the compensation, support and resettlement plan for the remaining 68 cases. The total recovered area is 3,010 square meters. The project has arranged to resettle 32 plots of land for households whose entire land has been cleared.
"Up to now, 34/68 cases have received money, 16 cases have dismantled and handed over the site, 12 cases are dismantling, 6 cases are contacting the dismantling unit and moving assets" - Mr. Tuan informed.
According to Mr. Tuan, 12/68 cases are waiting for procedures to receive money. There are currently 22 cases that are partially affected and have not agreed to the compensation plan.
As planned, on January 10, 2025, Tan Binh district will complete the demolition and hand over the site of 46 cases agreeing to the compensation and resettlement support plan to start construction.
For the remaining 22 cases on the frontage and alleys 111, 119, 116 Tran Van Du street, the district will increase contact and mobilize households to hand over the premises to the Traffic Department by the end of February 2025.
