After months of counting down, Billboard finally announced Beyoncé as the winner of the title "Greatest Pop Star of the 21st Century".

Starting out with Destiny's Child - one of the best-selling girl groups of all time, Beyoncé's career took off like a rocket. Even after the group disbanded, the singer's musical journey shows no signs of slowing down.

At the age of 41, with 26 years in her career, Beyoncé has released seven albums with completely different and innovative styles.

The female singer is always in the top of the best-selling artists of all time. Her solo singles such as Crazy in Love, Déjà Vu, Irreplaceable, Beautiful Liar... all became hits at the time of release.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) says Beyoncé has sold more than 200 million records worldwide as a solo artist and more than 60 million as a member of the girl group Destiny's Child.

At the 2023 Grammy Awards, the moment the song Break My Soul was announced as the winner of the "Best Dance/Electronic Recording" category marked the 32nd golden statue in Beyoncé's career.

Also in 2023, Beyoncé ranked 8th on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 200 greatest singers of all time, behind only Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Mariah Carey, Billie Holiday, Sam Cooke, Whitney Houston and at number 1 is Aretha Franklin.

Besides owning many prestigious awards and titles, becoming a person of great influence to the American public, Beyoncé is also a symbol of success for women in the United States as well as around the world.

The singer’s music does not focus on one audience but rather aims at a wide audience. In each of her albums, the singer honors a different class in society: women, the black community, the working class, the disadvantaged, and the LGBT community.

In addition to her career, Beyoncé also has a long-lasting marriage to rapper and music producer Jay-Z. The couple was voted one of the most influential power couples of 2006 by Time magazine.

Forbes magazine calls them “Hollywood’s Top-Earning Couple,” with their combined net worth estimated at $1.9 billion. The singer alone has an estimated $400 million from her music, tours, and image rights. Beyoncé also owns a significant stake in Tidal, the music streaming service founded by Jay-Z.

“Country music princess” Taylor Swift stopped at number 2 on the list of “Greatest Pop Stars of the 21st Century”, the only artist to have won Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards up to 4 times.
