Mid-Autumn Festival is still strange to many workers, but for Ms. THT's company (born in 1986), it is a very normal thing. For many years, the company's employees have been given this holiday, with full pay and not counted as annual leave.

As a Korean office furniture company (Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi), Ms. T. is a warehouse keeper. She has worked here for 1 year. Last year, she also enjoyed the full Mid-Autumn Festival holiday with her family.

"At that time, I was also surprised to know that the company gave this holiday. When talking to colleagues who had worked there for a long time, I learned that this was an annual policy," said Ms. T.

Recalling the first days of applying for a job at the company, this female employee also wondered about choosing the most suitable workplace.

Many businesses give their workers the Mid-Autumn Festival off.

Ms. T. said: "At first, I was also very hesitant between a high-paying job, but having to work on Saturdays, only paying social insurance at a salary of 5 million VND, and the current warehouse position of the company."

Although the salary of the furniture company is lower, she chose this as her workplace because the working schedule is only from Monday to Friday. As a married woman, Ms. T. really appreciates having two full days off on the weekend. Since then, she has had more time to take care of her children.

After the probationary period, Ms. T. learned that the company has many other benefits for employees.

"It turns out that the company increases the salary of its employees once a year. Moreover, when we carry out assigned projects, all travel expenses are paid for," she said.

Not only that, the highlight here is that there are more holidays than the general regulations of Vietnamese law.

In addition to the regular holidays, the company also gives employees holidays for Mid-Autumn Festival and Christmas. As a Korean company, they take these holidays very seriously.

According to Ms. T., the Mid-Autumn Festival in Korea even lasts for 3 days. On that occasion, every family holds a ceremony, thanks the heavens for a successful harvest and prays for good fortune in the year. During this occasion, Koreans travel and bring gifts to their parents' homes to wish them a long and healthy life.

That is why the company gave its employees this holiday. Not only that, Ms. T. also had summer vacation this year.

"Since the beginning of the year, we have had a lot of work. So the boss has decided to give the entire company 2 days off for the summer. The specific time is up to each employee to choose."

Ms. T. plans to take August 18 and August 21 off. Combined with the weekend, she has 4 consecutive days off. During this time, she will spend all her time traveling and relaxing with her family.

"The company has flexible working hours, from 9am to 5:30pm, and many good policies that help employees bond and work hard. Who could leave such a workplace?", Ms. T. laughed.

In September, workers can have 4 consecutive days off for National Day.

The company where Ms. Nguyen Trang works in Ba Ria - Vung Tau also has a Mid-Autumn Festival holiday for its employees.

"I see that many companies with Korean or Chinese investment have this holiday policy. This is also a meaningful activity, so that employees can reunite with their families," Ms. Nguyen Trang shared.

Previously, a company in the field of online medical training technology in Ho Chi Minh City announced its Mid-Autumn Festival holiday schedule.

According to the company's announcement, the Mid-Autumn Festival has long become an important holiday in the minds of Vietnamese people, even considered important only after the Lunar New Year.

Therefore, employees will have a holiday on September 29 (August 15 of the lunar calendar). Thus, employees of the company will have 3 full days off (1 Mid-Autumn Festival day and 2 weekend days).

In particular, employees are entitled to take leave with full pay, not counting as annual leave.

According to Article 112 of the 2019 Labor Code, from 2021, employees will have a total of 11 days off for holidays and Tet and receive full salary.

Specifically: New Year's Day is 1 day off (January 1); Lunar New Year is 5 days off, Hung King's Commemoration Day is 1 day off (March 10 of the lunar calendar), April 30 Victory Day is 1 day off - International Labor Day is 1 day off (May 1), National Day is 2 days off (September 2 and 1 day before or after).

If the company has a Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, then in September, employees will have many holidays.

Specifically, on the occasion of National Day 2023, officials, civil servants, public employees and workers will have 4 days off, lasting from Friday (September 1) to Monday (September 4).
