Mr. Vo Duc Trong - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee (right) and Mr. Nguyen Huu Dat - Head of the representative office of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Ho Chi Minh City presented flags to representatives of delegations participating in the festival.

18 families participated in the festival with the same goal of building a happy, progressive family, contributing to the prosperity of the country. It can be said that to have a warm, happy family, the small families have made great efforts.

Living as freelancers in Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Mr. Ngo Van Dung and his wife Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Luyen always arrange time to take care of their family and participate in social activities.

Mr. Dung shared that to build a happy family, the first thing we must do is to have a bond and strengthen the affection between family members. With children, parents must share like a companion, so that there is no distance between parents and children. Those things will help create a happy family. According to him, family happiness is very important.

Ms. Luyen added: “For society to be sustainable and develop, the family factor is important. In addition to activities that strengthen relationships, if there are conflicts in the family, we will find a way to resolve them. My husband and I always discuss how to raise our children to achieve the best results.”

According to Mr. Dung, in order to prevent children from being affected by bad things, conflicts and disagreements, no matter how small, should be limited in the family.

Mr. Dung and his wife are active members of the local cultural movement and have been awarded for their achievements in preserving and promoting the value of Bac Ninh folk song heritage. Mr. Dung and his wife are also spreading their passion for traditional art to their children. Mr. Dung's son, Ngo Quoc Hung, said: "I feel happy and proud to perform on stage with my parents and spread good things. In addition to receiving love, we also learn how to care for and help our parents when they have difficulties, and stand side by side with them in activities."

The family of soldier Tran Thi Thu Huong and her husband Nguyen Quoc Trung (working at the 5th Infantry Division) work in the armed forces so they have very little time at home. They try to arrange for the family to have meals together every week. Ms. Huong said: "During meals, we can talk to our children, listen to their thoughts and feelings to help solve and clarify their questions in a timely manner."

Ms. Huong also shared: “A happy family of course means a happy and developed society. In my opinion, the most important thing to build a happy family is that the husband and wife must sympathize, understand each other, share with each other, and work together to teach their children to be obedient.” In raising their children, the couple does not force their children, as long as they play in moderation and ensure their studies.

Proud and sympathetic to her parents' work, Nguyen Thu Thuy, 15 years old, Huong's daughter, said: "I am happy and proud that my parents are soldiers but still balance their work and time to take care of us. My parents are always role models for us to strive for." As children in a family with parents who are soldiers, Thuy and her sister soon learned to understand and sympathize with their parents' work, and know how to take care of each other so that their parents do not worry too much.

Mr. Dang Van Le and Ms. Hong Thi Vui (Binh Thuan province) shared about how to build and promote family values. He is a teacher, she is a librarian, they always arrange time to take care of their family and children. Ms. Vui and Mr. Le's family has a cultural exchange between Kinh and Cham.

“To reconcile the difficulties in the family, my husband and I always sympathize and share to overcome difficulties together. And preserving family values always goes hand in hand with preserving and promoting the good values of national culture,” Ms. Vui expressed. Mr. Le said: “I hope that the good values of the family will spread to the community. Through festivals like this, we want to convey to everyone a good message about building a small family full of love and sharing.”
