In the 2023-2024 school year, with the theme "Solidarity, discipline, creativity, continuing to innovate, improving the quality of education and training", the education and training sector has overcome difficulties, basically completing the key tasks and solutions set out.
The work of universalizing preschool education, primary education, secondary education and illiteracy eradication continues to receive attention from localities, creating favorable conditions to mobilize maximum school-age children, especially children in difficult circumstances and children with disabilities.

The 2018 general education program with many new points has been implemented synchronously with all subjects and educational activities nationwide. The implementation of "one program, many textbooks" has been effectively deployed, promoting outstanding advantages to help change from the root of teaching and learning to transfer knowledge to teaching and learning to develop students' qualities and abilities.

Difficulties and obstacles in assigning teachers and organizing teaching of new subjects have been basically resolved. The quality of key education continues to be affirmed. The results of the national excellent student selection exam, the national and international science and technology competition for high school students, and the international and regional Olympic competitions continue to achieve high results; The 2024 High School Graduation Exam was successfully organized to ensure seriousness, honesty, objectivity, safety, compliance with regulations, and to ensure convenience and fairness for candidates.
Admissions in 2024 are basically stable. The implementation of digital transformation throughout the system and at all stages of admissions is a bright spot that brings great benefits to candidates, contributing to reducing costs for the whole society.

In addition to the achieved results, the conference also discussed and pointed out some shortcomings and limitations. These include the shortage of teachers that is still common in many localities; the review and arrangement of the network of preschool and general education facilities are still inadequate; the work of ensuring safety for preschool children in independent and private preschool facilities, especially in urban areas, industrial parks and export processing zones, is still limited. The work of educating children, pupils and students in ethics, lifestyle and life skills; the work of supporting, providing psychological counseling and skills to prevent and combat violence and child abuse is not really effective.

The 2024-2025 school year is the year the 2018 General Education Program is implemented in all grades from grade 1 to grade 12 and is also the first school year to organize the High School Graduation Exam according to the 2018 General Education Program.
