* Period 1950 - 1965
- The Government issued Decree No. 03 dated February 12, 1950 on the merger of Vinh Yen and Phuc Yen provinces into Vinh Phuc province. The merger conference was held in Son Kich village, Hop Ly commune (now Quang Son commune, Lap Thach district).
- From 1956 to 1963, Vinh Phuc was honored to welcome Uncle Ho many times to visit and encourage cadres, party members and people.
- From 1963 to 1965, Vinh Phuc was one of the leading provinces in the North in food production, tree planting, irrigation and agricultural cooperative movement, especially in rice productivity.
* Period 1965 - 1996
- On September 10, 1966, Vinh Phuc Provincial Party Committee issued Resolution No. 68-NQ/TU "On some issues of labor management in current agricultural cooperatives" - marking the birth of "Household Contracting" in Vinh Phuc.
- The army and people of Vinh Phuc have achieved many outstanding feats. The National Assembly and the Government have awarded 4,191 Medals and 14,768 Medals of various types. Including 2 First Class Resistance Medals; 1 First Class Feat of Arms Medal.
- On January 26, 1968, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 504/NQ-QH on merging Vinh Phuc and Phu Tho provinces into Vinh Phu province.
- The Party Committee and people of all ethnic groups in the province have successfully carried out important tasks, contributing to the cause of liberating the South and unifying the country.
- In 1974, the total rice output of Vinh Phu province reached 456,977 tons, an increase of 5.3% compared to the plan. During the period 1968 - 1975, the province's agricultural and industrial production made greater progress than before.
- In 1985, the State Council awarded the people of all ethnic groups and officers and soldiers of Vinh Phu province the Gold Star Order.
- During the years 1976 - 1996, the Party Committee and the people of all ethnic groups in the province achieved very important achievements. The economic structure shifted in the right direction, the proportion of industry and services increased; agriculture and forestry decreased.
* Period from 1996 to present
- In November 1996, the 9th National Assembly, 10th session, issued a Resolution to separate Vinh Phu province into two provinces, Vinh Phuc and Phu Tho. Vinh Phuc province was re-established and put into operation from January 1, 1997.
- Vinh Phuc is one of the provinces that contributes greatly to the central budget, state budget revenue has increased dramatically over the years:
+ 1997: 114 billion VND.
+ 2002: exceeded 1 trillion VND mark.
+ In 2004: self-balanced budget expenditures and contributed and regulated to the central budget.
+ 2009: exceeded 10 trillion VND mark.
+ 2014: exceeded 20 trillion VND.
+ 2016: exceeded 30 trillion VND mark.
+ 2022: more than 40 trillion VND.
+ 2024: reach more than 31 trillion VND.
- 1997: Average income per capita reached about 48% of the national average. The Provincial Party Committee determined to take industrial development as the foundation; promote development and improve the quality of service sectors, develop tourism as a spearhead; attach importance to agricultural and rural development.
- In the period of 1997 - 2021, the economic growth rate (GRDP) reached 13.42%/year; in 2024 it reached 7.52%, higher than the average growth rate of the whole country. The scale of GRDP reached more than 173 trillion VND, an increase of 15.66 trillion VND, bringing the average GRDP value per capita to more than 141 million VND/person/year.
- The economic structure continues to shift in a positive direction. In 2024, the industry - construction sector accounts for 62.37%; the service sector accounts for 30.88%; the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector accounts for 6.75% (in 1997, the economic structure was: 18.4%, 36.47%, 45.13%, respectively).
- Industrial production index (IIP) increases continuously over the years, in 2024 it will increase by more than 11% compared to 2023.
- In 2024, the Prime Minister approved the Vinh Phuc Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.
- The whole province has 200 villages achieving model new rural areas, 13 villages achieving smart new rural areas, 42 communes achieving advanced new rural areas, 12 communes achieving model new rural areas, 1 district achieving advanced new rural areas (Yen Lac district); there are 141 OCOP products achieving quality of 3 stars or higher.
- Vinh Phuc has always been one of the provinces and cities with the best quality of education in the country. In the 2022 - 2023 - 2024 school year, Vinh Phuc ranked first in the country in terms of average scores in high school graduation exams; achieved high rankings in national, regional and international competitions.
- In 2024, the poverty rate (according to multidimensional approach standards) in the whole province will decrease to 0.44%, there will be no poor households belonging to policy families or meritorious people; the rate of population participating in health insurance will reach 95.8%.
- Vinh Phuc has 1 national treasure (Tro Pagoda's enameled ceramic tower); 4 relics ranked as special national relics; 3 types of intangible cultural heritages listed by UNESCO; 7 heritages included in the list of national intangible cultural heritages.
- The Party Committee, government and people of Vinh Phuc were honored to receive the First Class Independence Medal in 2007, the Ho Chi Minh Medal in 2010, the First Class Independence Medal (2nd time) in 2015, the First Class Labor Medal in 2017, the First Class Labor Medal in 2020 (2nd time) and many other noble awards from the Party and State.
