Two senior Chinese and Russian officials declared their readiness to strengthen joint security coordination and emphasized opposing US containment policy.
On November 12, Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergey Shoigu held talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi during his working visit to Beijing.
Welcoming Russian officials, Foreign Minister Wang said Beijing is ready to strengthen coordination with Moscow on issues related to security and development, according to TASS.

Mr. Wang said that the strategic security consultation mechanism between China and Russia is an important communication platform serving the diplomatic efforts of the two countries' leaders.
Foreign Minister Wang said that China and Russia have maintained the development momentum of bilateral relations amid global changes, stressing that the two sides must strengthen solidarity and cooperation to safeguard common interests amid growing external challenges.
"Russia and China support each other on issues related to each other's vital interests, constantly strengthen mutual political trust, resolutely promote cooperation in various fields, and create a new model of cooperative relations between major neighbors," Wang said.
For his part, Mr. Shoigu said that Russia-China bilateral relations are one of the pillars of global politics and security, a factor for world stability.
Mr. Shoigu expressed readiness to continue efforts to implement the agreements reached by the leaders of the two countries in recent years.
"In my opinion, the most important goal in this regard is to counter the containment policy of Russia and China pursued by the United States and its satellites, as well as to further expand foreign policy coordination, including the creation of an equal and indivisible Eurasian security structure," said former Russian Defense Minister Shoigu.
During this working visit, Mr. Shoigu is expected to meet with Chinese political leaders.
