As a "bright spot" in improving the status of ethnic minority women, Tan Son district creates conditions for women to overcome difficult circumstances, excel in work, take control of the economy, and build equal, progressive, and happy families.
In My Thuan commune, Tan Son district, the District Women's Union (WU) has established a livelihood group "Beekeeping for honey" with 13 members. The Union has coordinated with agencies and organizations to help the beekeeping livelihood group expand its scale, organize training courses, and instruct members on the biological characteristics of honey bees, the significance of beekeeping, the life and organization of bee colonies, and modern beekeeping techniques... Thereby, the Muong Vac honey product of the My Thuan commune livelihood group achieved 3-star OCOP in November 2024, contributing to stabilizing the economy of the commune's women.

Ms. Hoang Thi Thom, Head of the "Beekeeping for honey" livelihood group in My Thuan commune, shared: "Up to now, each member earns an income of 10 million VND/month, the life of the women in the group has become increasingly prosperous. Some households have built spacious houses and purchased equipment and means to serve their lives, creating the premise to help their families become happier."
The "Beekeeping for honey" livelihood group is one of three groups, including: Tea processing in Bong 1 area, Long Coc commune; the group linking to make mem la wine in U area, Thu Cuc commune. The program is part of Project 8 of the District Women's Union. To effectively implement the program, the Union has actively deployed and applied 4.0 technology in production and market connection, focusing on the following activities: Brand building, traceability; introducing and supporting electronic payment connection; providing technical advice and support for groups; putting agricultural products on e-commerce platforms,... to help women members improve their capacity in brand building, increasing product value, getting acquainted with digital transformation in management, operating collective economic models, promoting and introducing products and goods.

Implementing Project 8 under the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2025 period, the District Women's Union not only focuses on supporting livelihoods but also promotes emulation movements such as "Building a friendly, benevolent, united, integrated and developed Motherland Women", "Women fostering good values of Vietnamese families", "Building a new-age Vietnamese woman" along with 2 campaigns "Building a family of 5 no's, 3 clean's" and "Training the moral qualities of confidence, self-respect, loyalty, and responsibility"...
In addition, the Association has directed the launch of 2 "Indigenous Vegetable Growing" linkage groups in Xuan Dai and Dong Son, supporting 3 million VND/cooperation group; coordinating with the Provincial Poor Women Support Fund to disburse support for 2 livelihood models "Raising multi-spurred chickens" with an amount of 30 million VND/model and supporting the "Raising stream ducks" model for 10 households in My Thuan and Thu Cuc communes with an amount of 40 million VND.
Chairwoman of Tan Son District Women's Union Dinh Thi Thu Hien said: "Enhancing the status, role and power of women in the family as well as in life has always been one of the key tasks of the District Women's Union. In the context of the current general economic difficulties, the Union has implemented many activities and programs to build economic development capacity, improve agricultural production skills for members and promote gender equality for ethnic minority women."
One of the highlights of the District Women's Union's activities was the organization of 24 dialogues between Party leaders and 1,260 members and people in 16/17 communes of the district to listen to the thoughts and aspirations of women, along with campaigns such as: Prevention of domestic violence, prevention of child abuse, safety skills for children... attracting nearly 2,000 women and children to participate.
Members of the "Leaders of Change" Club of Kiet Son Secondary School, Kiet Son Commune, Tan Son District participated in activities at the club's launching ceremony.
To date, the Association has launched 68 community communication teams in 17/17 communes; 12 “Leaders of Change” clubs. These are the core and pioneering forces in propagating and mobilizing ethnic minority and mountainous people to change their thinking and working methods, contributing to eliminating prejudices, gender stereotypes and harmful cultural practices that have been and are barriers to the development of women and children.
The Association continues to maintain and develop the loan capital of the Fund to support poor women in communes and affiliated groups with a total outstanding loan of more than 8 billion VND, helping female members access financial loans to develop the economy and escape poverty sustainably. These efforts have demonstrated the determination of the District Women's Union, helping ethnic minority women confidently affirm their value in the community.
