The launching ceremony was broadcast live on the Fanpage of the Central Information Portal of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Central Propaganda Department of the Youth Union.
The contest for composing digital media products to raise awareness of gender equality in ethnic minority and mountainous areas with the theme "Highlands of Happiness" was organized to concretize the coordination program between the Vietnam Women's Union and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union on organizing activities for young women in the period 2022 - 2027. At the same time, promoting the role and participation of young people in activities to promote gender equality and solve issues related to young women and children in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Central Vietnam Student Association Nguyen Minh Triet said that after the contest, typical media products will be shared and widely disseminated to raise awareness of gender equality for children and youth in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
From the purpose and good meaning of the contest, Secretary of the Central Youth Union Nguyen Minh Triet hopes that each member and young person will actively respond to the contest to have more creative products of young people, which are effective propaganda tools, spreading positive messages about an equal, safe and happy life.
“For each member and young person, I hope that through the most specific and practical actions in daily life, you will act together, contributing to changing perceptions and behaviors with gender bias, continuing to narrow the gender gap, building a progressive, equal and sustainable society. The Central Youth Union Secretariat requests that Youth Union chapters at all levels continue to invest in and effectively organize propaganda and dissemination activities on social security and gender equality policies. At the same time, prevent and respond to gender-based violence, especially policies to support women and girls in remote, isolated and ethnic minority areas,” said Central Youth Union Secretary Nguyen Minh Triet.
Within the framework of the contest launching ceremony, there were special situational plays and exchanges, listening to the program's speakers share information to contribute to raising awareness of gender equality, educating young women and ethnic minority children to be pioneers in changing and eliminating backward customs.
The contest accepts entries from June 28 to August 28, 2024, for Vietnamese youth union members and youth at home and abroad. Contestants submit their entries to the website: https://binhdanggioi.doanthanhnien.vn.
The entries are modern media publications on digital platforms (Infographics, Posters, propaganda posters...) revolving around the following contents: Conveying messages about gender equality in the family, especially in ethnic minority and mountainous families; conveying positive messages about a safe and happy life, without violence and discrimination between men and women. Along with that, reflecting real life issues that still exist in ethnic minority and mountainous areas such as: Early marriage, gender prejudice, gender stereotypes... At the same time, calling for the elimination of bad customs and prejudices, building civilized communities and happy families.
The Organizing Committee will award 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes worth 5 million VND, 3 million VND and 2 million VND each, respectively. In addition, the Organizing Committee will award 4 Consolation Prizes, each worth 1 million VND and 1 "Voting" Prize worth 500 thousand VND.
