The male lead of "The Legend of Liu" Truong Van Y was criticized for his acting.

On the evening of August 12, the Chinese historical drama "Liu Zhu Ji" aired its first four episodes on the Tencent Video platform.

“Liu Zhu Yi” is adapted from the novel “Qiao Zang” by author Kuang Shang Jia Kuang. The film revolves around the story of Liu Mien Duong (Wang Suo Ran), the daughter of a fallen official family who must marry into the capital.

On the way, Liu Mian Tang was robbed of her bride and became the wife of a bandit. But an unexpected incident occurred, she lost her memory and mistook Thôi Hành Chu (Trương Vãn Ý), a royal prince, as her husband.

Although knowing the truth, Thôi Hành Chu still happily accepted to be Liễu Miên Đường's "fake husband" for personal purposes. The two began a life of marriage first and love later.

The film will also interweave many elements showing the main characters' choices and maturity between love, family and country.

On the first day of airing, "Liu Zhu Ji" recorded some positive achievements such as ranking Top 1 on Vlinkage's online drama index, Top 6 on Datawin's TV drama index, surpassing 23,000 heat points on Tencent after more than 4 hours of showing.

However, actor Truong Van Y, who plays the male lead role of Thoi Hanh Chu, has caused controversy over his acting and appearance.

On Weibo and Douban, some viewers commented that Truong Van Y's acting had lifeless eyes and expressions that seemed to be "copied" from the role of Thuong Huyen in the movie "Truong Tuong Tu".

Zhang Wanyi was compared to Bai Jingting. When playing the same role as Gu Jiuxi in the movie "The Style", Bai Jingting performed much better than Zhang Wanyi.

Some viewers pointed out that the character Thôi Hành Chu was portrayed as a cold, dignified prince, but when Truong Van Y acted, viewers mistook him for a foolish, stupid prince.

On the contrary, the female lead Vuong So Nhien was praised for her beautiful ancient costume and pleasant expressions.

However, Truong Van Y and Vuong So Nhien were judged by many viewers to "not create the feeling of a couple". Vuong So Nhien looked much more mature and older when standing next to Truong Van Y.
