The talks, which are said to focus on a range of issues including efforts to reach a ceasefire in the Black Sea, have been described by the US as a step in President Donald Trump's efforts to end the three-year war.
Reuters news agency quoted a White House source as saying that the talks in Riyadh were progressing and that a "positive announcement... was expected in the near future." Russia's RIA news agency said that when asked about their mood after the end of the talks, the Russian delegation replied: "Good."

US and Russian sources said the talks concluded late on Monday and a draft joint statement had been sent to Moscow and Washington for approval, with details to be released by the sides on Tuesday.
Earlier on Monday, Mr Trump listed the issues he said were being discussed: "We're talking about territory right now. We're talking about lines, we're talking about electricity, ownership of power plants."
White House national security adviser Mike Waltz said that in addition to the ceasefire in the Black Sea, the teams would discuss “lines of control” between the two armies, which he described as “measures to verify, to keep the peace, to freeze the lines where they exist.”
Last week, Russia rejected the US administration's proposal for a comprehensive 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine, and has so far only agreed to postpone attacks on energy infrastructure.
The talks in Saudi Arabia follow separate phone calls last week between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The US also held separate talks with Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Saudi Arabia earlier this month.
The White House said the initial goal of the talks was to secure a maritime ceasefire in the Black Sea, allowing free shipping. "This is primarily about safety of navigation," Kremlin spokesman Peskov added.
