Coffee flower season attracts tourists to Dak Lak

As scheduled, after the Lunar New Year holiday, it is also the time when coffee flowers in Dak Lak bloom, attracting many people to come and experience.

Coffee capital Dak Lak has more than 200,000 hectares of coffee, providing the main source of income for most local farmers. Coffee flowering season is the signal to start the new crop. Looking at the flowers blooming on the branches, they can assess the harvest at the end of the year.

After the Lunar New Year holiday, farmers in Dak Lak province have started the irrigation season again when the harvest has just ended.

According to farmers, watering is essential, because coffee trees will die if they lack water for only about a month. At this point, the coffee trees that used to yield tons of fruit, supporting farmers, may no longer be valuable.

Coffee flower season in Dak Lak usually blooms in February and March. Before the coffee flowers begin to bud and bloom, growers often increase watering and nourish the plants about 3-4 times.

Each coffee tree will normally bloom twice, each blooming for about 5-7 days, then gradually fade. The second blooming period is about 15 days later, but the number of flowers and the thickness of the flowers are not as good as the first blooming period. Currently, some gardens in Dak Lak have passed the first blooming period.

Coffee flowers often bloom simultaneously because the plants are watered at the same time. If you come at the right time, after just one night of waking up, you will see the pure white color covering the hillsides, fields, and roads in the coffee land of the Central Highlands.

Also during this time, preparations for the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025 with the theme “Buon Ma Thuot - Destination of world coffee” from March 9 to March 13, 2025 taking place in Buon Ma Thuot City and some localities in the province are being prepared to welcome visitors.
