Mong Rong Rock Beach, also known as Cau My Rock Beach, has long been one of the hottest tourist attractions in the Co To archipelago (Quang Ninh). The reason this place is often called Mong Rong Rock Beach by locals is because the shape of the rock beach resembles a dragon's claw reaching out to the ocean.
About 3km south of Co To town, Mong Rong rock beach is actually a small mountain rising above the sea. The erosion of sea waves over thousands of years has created strange rock patterns. This has given Mong Rong rock beach a majestic beauty.
From the top of a low hill, but enough for visitors to have a panoramic view of Mong Rong rock beach. According to many surveys, Mong Rong rock beach is a system of sedimentary rock layers eroded over thousands and tens of thousands of years by sea water. That creates a beautiful and fascinating scene that is not only valuable in terms of landscape but also hides many unique things about geological formations. In 2015, Cau My rock beach was renamed Mong Rong beach. Not only that, Mong Rong rock beach also has beautiful, unique and open scenery. Visitors can walk to the highest point to see the whole beautiful scenery, wide view of the ocean, each white wave crashing towards the mainland. On sunny days, visitors can clearly see the blue sea and clear water to the bottom. This is also the place to welcome the beautiful sunrise and sunset on Co To island.
