(NLDO)- On the evening of February 6, in Hanoi, the North Korean Embassy in Vietnam held a reception to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and North Korea.
Attending the ceremony were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu, DPRK Ambassador to Vietnam Ri Sung Guk, and representatives of Vietnamese ministries, branches and friendship organizations.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized that over the past 75 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (January 31, 1950 - January 31, 2025), the traditional friendship between the two Parties and Peoples, personally built and nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kim Il Sung, has overcome many difficulties, challenges and ups and downs of history, and has been inherited and continuously strengthened through generations of leaders of the two countries.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Bui Thanh Son affirmed his readiness to work with the Party, Government and People of the DPRK to further develop the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries, especially in the Vietnam-DPRK Friendship Year in 2025, thereby making practical contributions to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
Ambassador Ri Sung Guk of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea said that the establishment of diplomatic relations between the DPRK and Vietnam on January 31, 1950, was a historic milestone, marking the beginning of friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the peoples of the two countries. The Ambassador expressed his delight at the good development of the bilateral relationship over the past 75 years; affirmed that the DPRK will continue to make efforts to join Vietnam in strengthening and further developing the friendship and cooperation in many fields between the two countries in the coming time.
Ambassador Ri Sung Guk wished the Party, Government and People of Vietnam to continue to achieve more achievements in the cause of building a prosperous and civilized socialist Vietnam.
Previously, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, on January 31, General Secretary To Lam and President Luong Cuong exchanged congratulatory messages with General Secretary and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Kim Jong Un; Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh exchanged congratulatory messages with Premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Pak Thae Song; National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man exchanged congratulatory messages with Chairman of the Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Pak In Chol.
The congratulatory messages from Vietnamese leaders to DPRK leaders affirmed that, in the 75 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the traditional friendship between Vietnam and DPRK, personally built by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kim Il Sung and nurtured by generations of leaders and people of the two countries, has continuously developed. The Party, State and People of Vietnam always attach importance to and wish to promote the cooperative relationship with DPRK to develop more strongly and substantially in many fields, in accordance with the aspirations of the people of the two countries and the international commitments of each country, contributing to the maintenance of peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world; at the same time, they expressed their belief that the two sides will coordinate well in implementing activities to celebrate the "Vietnam - DPRK Friendship Year 2025" with meaningful exchange and cooperation activities.
The message from the North Korean leader to the Vietnamese leader emphasized that the decision of the two countries to make 2025 the "Year of Friendship" is in line with the common orientation and wishes of the people of the two countries; firmly believing that the long-standing friendship and cooperation between the two countries will be continuously strengthened and developed, thereby encouraging and strongly promoting the socialist cause of the two countries.
On this occasion, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Party Central Committee's External Relations Commission Le Hoai Trung exchanged congratulatory messages with alternate member of the Politburo and Head of the International Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea Kim Song Nam; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son exchanged congratulatory messages with member of the Politburo and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Choe Son Hui.
