Traditional Dinh Khoang Festival 2025

On February 12 (ie the 15th of the first lunar month, February 15), Huong Can commune, Thanh Son district held the traditional Khoang Communal House festival in the spring of At Ty year 2025.

Khoang Communal House is ranked as a provincial-level cultural and historical relic, a place to worship Tan Vien Son Thanh and his mother - Holy Mother Dinh Thi Den. Tan Vien Son Thanh's name is Cao Son (ie Nguyen Tuan). He is not only a hero who defeated the enemy, but also taught people to build dikes, prevent floods, and cultivate wet rice. He is the son-in-law of the 18th Hung King, a saint in the "Four Immortals", and the "Supreme Spirit" god of Vietnamese folk beliefs. Khoang Communal House is part of the system of relics worshiping Duc Thanh Tan Vien in the plains and midlands of the North. The communal house still preserves a number of artifacts dating back to the early 20th century such as: Eel-skin ceramic incense burner, ceremonial dress, palanquin foot dress, blue and white porcelain plate, tray, water fountain...

The Khoang Communal House Festival is held according to traditional rituals with water procession, palanquin procession and sacrificial ceremony. The festival takes place with many cultural activities imbued with the cultural identity of the Muong ethnic group such as: Gong performance, Senh Tien dance, Con throwing, Dam Duong, stilt walking, cultural exchange, football and volleyball competitions and cultural camps of residential areas.
