The Hanoi People's Committee has just issued a Plan to organize activities for Hanoi to participate in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in 2024-2025.
Organizing activities to promote the potential strengths of the Capital in the fields of creative design; Raising awareness of businesses and the social community about the design and creative industries, contributing to the socio-economic development of the Capital; Connecting and expanding business cooperation between organizations, experts, domestic and international enterprises in the fields of design and creative industries.
The highlight of this series of activities is the organization of the Creative Design Festival 2024, scheduled to take place from November 9 to 17, with the theme "Creative Crossroads" chaired by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports. The organizing committee will carry out creative activities at cultural heritage spaces and traditional craft villages in districts, towns and cities.
The main area of the festival is the creative experience route with the central point being the August Revolution Square (traffic island in front of the Opera House) with 2 axes North-South (Ly Thai To Street - Le Thanh Tong Street) and East-West (Bac Co Slope - Trang Tien Street) including architectural works: Hanoi Children's Palace, National Museum of History, Bac Bo Palace, Opera House, University; flower gardens on Phan Chu Trinh, Ly Thuong Kiet streets and creative resonance locations.
During the festival, people and visitors will experience creative space models at the outdoor courtyard of Hanoi Children's Palace, the outdoor courtyard of the National Museum of History, flower gardens and several locations along the festival route.
The festival will have many outdoor art displays and installations including: Display and installation of Children's Palace memorabilia; display with the theme "Educational Heritage"; display, installation, introduction of creative works at the Children's Palace; exhibition, installation, display activities in the fields of fine arts, photography, fashion, painting...; display of creative products of young design teams; display of the Future Simulation Museum.
In addition, the festival also has performing arts programs such as: Traditional art performances, introducing intangible cultural heritage; introducing the fields of cinema - theater - circus; showing fashion collections of young, creative designers; performing young dance teams... Along with that, there are also international seminars and talks in the field of creativity, promoting creativity and talks in the fields of art, publishing, fine arts, architecture...
In the program, the Organizing Committee introduces cultural tours, heritage experiences, and exploration of Hanoi's beautiful architecture; parade activities, introducing creative ideas in various fields on the streets... In addition, during the creative design week, there are also community sports activities; introducing traditional cuisine combined in creative spaces...
In addition to the Creative Design Festival, Hanoi will establish an Advisory Council of Experts to implement activities to build Hanoi - a Creative City; promote international cooperation between Hanoi and member cities in the Network; attend conferences and forums of the Global Network in Asia and Southeast Asia according to UNESCO programs; form a Coordination Center for Creative Activities in Hanoi, creative spaces in Hanoi city.../.
