The Organizing Committee said that the opening ceremony of the 2024 Sa Pa Autumn Festival and the ceremony to receive the provincial-level relic certificate for Bac Waterfall and Fansipan Peak will be held at 8:00 p.m. on August 30, 2024 at Quan Stadium, Sa Pa town. The Mong Ky Village Cultural Festival will be held during the National Day holiday on September 2 at Cat Cat tourist site, Hoang Lien commune. At the festival, there will be cultural and folk art activities of the Mong people; folk games; demonstrations of traditional Mong ethnic handicrafts; forging agricultural tools, silver carving, linen spinning, weaving, indigo dyeing, beeswax pattern painting on linen, basket weaving, shoe weaving, five-color sticky rice stalls; demonstrations of the process of making green rice flakes, enjoying green rice flakes dishes and participating in folk games of the Sa Pa ethnic minority community.

It will be ideal for families to celebrate the New Year together in Sa Pa with the beautiful golden autumn scenery and the "Full Moon Festival" organized on a grand scale. On this occasion, sports competitions will take place: The 2024 Vietnam Mountain Marathon will take place from September 20 to 22, 2024, expected to attract 4,000 athletes from more than 50 countries to participate in the mountain running competition with routes and distances of 10 km, 21 km, 50 km, 70 km, 100 km and 160 km; The "Sa Pa Golden Season" Tennis Tournament takes place in 2 days from August 31 to September 1, 2024 at Sa Pa Tennis Court with over 100 domestic athletes and the Men's Football Tournament - Lao Cai Tourism Association 2024 (expected from September 24 to October 6 at Sinavi Court and SunGroup Court).

In order to implement the Sa Pa - Mu Cang Chai Cooperation Program in 2024, in the third quarter of 2024, the two localities will coordinate to organize the first Forum on Linking and Cooperation in Tourism Development with the theme "The Road Connecting the Heritage of Terraced Fields" and a series of other activities such as the Photo Exhibition Connecting the Cultural Heritage of Terraced Fields with the theme "Heritage Road", organizing a space to display, introduce and sell OCOP products, agricultural products, and handicrafts at festival programs of the two localities. Mr. Do Van Tan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Sa Pa town, said that this is an annual festival organized to raise awareness of the responsibility to preserve national cultural identity and natural landscapes, thereby building unique tourism products of Sa Pa and at the same time introducing and promoting the values of tourism resources and special tourism products of Sa Pa.

The festival also contributes to strongly promoting the connection of tourism development between Sa Pa and other provinces, regions and localities in the country and countries around the world to promote international integration, create conditions to strongly attract resources to develop tourism, enhance the position and image of the country and people of Vietnam in general and Sa Pa (Lao Cai) in particular.

In addition to the activities of the Autumn Festival 2024, visitors can visit and learn about many famous tourist attractions in Sa Pa such as Fansipan Peak - the roof of Indochina, terraced rice fields in Lao Chai village or Muong Hoa Valley.
