Party and State leaders attend Laos' traditional Bunpimay New Year

On the morning of April 6, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Commission Truong Thi Mai attended the traditional Lao New Year Bunpimay celebration at the Lao Embassy in Hanoi.

Also attending were Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council Nguyen Xuan Thang; Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang; Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son; Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army.

Speaking at the ceremony, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council Nguyen Xuan Thang, on behalf of the leaders of the Party, State and people of Vietnam, sent to the leaders of the Party, State and people of Laos wishes for a new year of good health, happiness and success. Congratulating and sharing pride in the achievements that the Party, State and people of Laos have achieved in recent years; believing that the brotherly country of Laos will continue to succeed on the path of building a peaceful, independent, democratic, unified and prosperous country, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang emphasized that Vietnam and Laos are two neighboring countries with a special relationship, built, nurtured and developed by sincerity, loyal affection, wholehearted support, valuable assistance, and the spirit of sacrifice for each other between the two Parties, two States and people of the two countries.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang affirmed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam are always united, together with the Party, State and people of Laos, determined to preserve and develop the brotherly relationship that will never fade. Thanking the senior leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam, ministries, departments and branches of the Central and local levels for attending the ceremony, Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Khamphao Ernthavanh emphasized that this demonstrates the close comradely and brotherly sentiments and the special relationship between the two countries.

DISCUSSION

Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh reviewed the achievements in various fields that Laos has achieved in 2023 and expressed his gratitude for the support and assistance of the Party, State and people of Vietnam to the Party, State and people of Laos during the previous period of national liberation struggle as well as in the cause of national construction and defense today. The Lao Ambassador emphasized that in recent times, although the regional and world situation continues to develop rapidly and complicatedly, the two parties and two countries have continued to strengthen the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam, strongly affirming the steadfast and faithful relationship, which is unique in the world.
