According to Decision No. 4081/QD-BNN-TT dated October 26, 2022 on approving the Project on developing the flower and ornamental plant industry by 2030, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development aims to build and develop the flower and ornamental plant industry in a sustainable manner, contributing significantly to the restructuring of crops, increasing income for producers and improving the cultural and spiritual life of the people.

In the period 2022 - 2030, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development aims for a growth rate of the production value of the flower and ornamental plant industry of about 6-8%/year. The production value of flowers and ornamental plants in 2025 will reach about 50,000 - 55,000 billion VND, and by 2030 it will reach about 70,000 - 75,000 billion VND.
Regarding exports, the export value of flower and ornamental plant products in 2025 will reach about 130 - 150 million USD, and by 2030 it will reach about 180 - 200 million USD.
The value of products obtained per hectare of land for growing flowers and ornamental plants reaches an average of 700 - 750 million VND/year. By 2030, the country strives to have about 130 - 150 flower and ornamental plant craft villages recognized by competent authorities.
In terms of viewpoint, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development determines to develop the flower and ornamental plant industry on the basis of promoting the advantages of natural, economic and social conditions of each ecological region, especially the cultural traditions and flower and ornamental plant production of each locality; developing in accordance with the sustainable rural agricultural development strategy and the economic and social development orientation of each locality from now to 2030.
