This is an opportunity to express gratitude and acknowledge the contributions and dedication of volunteer organizations and volunteers in volunteer activities for the community; spreading humane values to make life better and better.
Hope is given
With the spirit of sharing and social responsibility, MC - Editor Hanh Phuc (a beloved host with a warm and friendly style) participated in the blood donation program "Volunteer Heart 2024" and was present very early to contribute part of his efforts, supporting patients in need of blood for treatment.
MC Hanh Phuc shared: “From 7am, the blood donation area was very crowded, the spirit of the people, especially the young people, was extremely wonderful”. He said that participating in this activity not only brought him a sense of meaning but also helped spread the message “A drop of blood given, a life saved”.
“Donating blood is a small act but can create big changes. We thank the program for creating a meaningful playground for media people to contribute to sharing and spreading the message of love” - MC Hanh Phuc shared more.
As a former volunteer of the Hanoi Youth Blood Donation Association, Chau Quynh Nhung was very proud to donate blood on this occasion. The young girl did not hesitate to travel more than 20km to donate blood.
“Giving away drops of blood is the moment I feel joy and happiness in my heart. I always remind myself that young people should always be passionate and enthusiastic about volunteer activities, especially the voluntary blood donation movement that helps many patients have a better life” - Quynh Nhung shared.
Always keeping in mind that "Living is about giving, not just receiving", for the young man Hoang Van Duong - Vice President of the Hanoi Youth Blood Donation Association (Blood Association), donating blood and mobilizing voluntary blood donation has long been a passion in life.
Having a predestined relationship with volunteer activities from an early age as well as having many opportunities to interact with society, especially when entering university and participating in the "Blood Society", the young man has matured a lot.
Thanks to that, he was quickly assigned by the Executive Committee of the Association to take on the position of Vice President of the Association in just under 3 years of operation. Taking on the role of Vice President of the Blood Association, Hoang Van Duong always keeps within himself a passionate and burning “volunteer heart”.
As the head of the Blood Association's blood donation points, Duong has planned and organized many large programs and events such as the Pink Moon Festival, Pink Spring Festival, Charitable Summer, Gratitude Drops, Volunteer Heart... Among them, the most impressive to the young man was the Volunteer Heart blood donation festival.
Volunteer Heart is one of the four biggest blood donation events of the year. The program is organized to honor the dedication and passion of volunteers like Hoang Duong for society and the community. Because the strength, intelligence and even the drops of blood brought back to the sick all originate from each of their hearts.
Hanoi's blood donation rate is the highest in the country.
At the blood donation festival "Volunteer Heart 2024", with the hope of receiving 2,500 units of blood, the Vice President of the Hanoi Youth Blood Donation Association called on people and young people with good health conditions to donate blood to help sick children and people with blood diseases in general have a peaceful Tet without blood shortage.
As a person who is always passionate about community activities, Mr. Duong is not only a pioneer in voluntary blood donation movements but also an inspiration and motivator for thousands of young people in this meaningful activity.
Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Ngoc Que - Director of the National Blood Center, National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion said that the "Volunteer Heart" Blood Donation Festival has been held annually since 2009, contributing to raising awareness of young people and students in the capital about volunteer activities in general and voluntary blood donation in particular.
In 2024, the program will collect about 2,500 units of blood to serve the needs of emergency and treatment of patients during the end of the year and Lunar New Year. On the first day of the event alone, nearly 1,500 people came to donate blood.
This is a truly impressive number, demonstrating the enthusiasm of young people for the community and society. This has contributed to the proud tradition of mutual love, solidarity and love of the Vietnamese people.
Since the beginning of 2024, the Hanoi Blood Association has mobilized over 55,000 units of blood, thereby contributing greatly to increasing the rate of blood donation in Hanoi to 3.8% - the highest in the country and 2.4 times higher than the national average.
Chairman of the Hanoi Youth Blood Donation Campaign Trinh Xuan Thuy shared that after 15 events (2009 - 2023), "Volunteer Heart" has received nearly 35,000 units of blood, contributing to saving the lives of thousands of patients.
“This is not just a number, but the hope and life we give. It is a testament to the love and volunteer spirit that is constantly spreading in the community” - Chairman of Hanoi Blood Association expressed.
This is the fourth time I have donated blood. I love blood donation and want to donate blood at least once a year. I also calculate the convenient time to be able to donate blood at the annual Volunteer Heart Festival because usually at the end of the year, we need more blood reserves than other times.
