In response to the need to restructure the agricultural sector, the province has recently promoted the implementation of the Project “Developing organic agriculture in Quang Ninh province to 2025, with a vision to 2030”. In which, localities focus on clean, organic agricultural production, contributing to maintaining the natural ecosystem, without harming the health of farmers and consumers.

An Sinh Commune (Dong Trieu Town), one of the province's major custard apple growing areas, custard apple trees are planted and cared for by farmers according to VietGAP standards, creating high productivity, quality and value. Mr. Nguyen Minh Son (Dia Moi Village, An Sinh Commune) has nearly 1.2 hectares of custard apple trees, said: Thanks to the support of the locality and Dong Trieu Custard Apple Cooperative, his family cultivates according to VietGAP process. The use of fertilizers and pesticides is recorded by the family in the farming diary, ensuring rationality, savings, efficiency and environmental friendliness. Previously, each custard apple tree cost 1 bag of fertilizer, left to decompose and rot into the soil; now, according to VietGAP process, beds are made around the custard apple tree, then fertilizer is applied according to the ratio and covered with soil. Applying this process helps increase productivity by 15-30%, and the custard apples are beautiful. In particular, tracing the origin is very convenient, ensuring safety standards, and having a higher selling price.

Thien Thuan Tuong Company (Cam Pha City) raises pigs organically. The company has applied an automatic care system, management software to monitor the daily health and history of animals, and feed of known origin, so the herd's weight can increase by more than 650g/head/day, saving nearly 1,500 liters of water/head, and the meat quality is good. Most importantly, the pigs here have good resistance, so this is also one of the rare pig farms in the country that has been "immune" to African swine fever for over 2 years.

In recent times, organic agricultural production models have gradually become a trend that many farmers in the province have implemented. Aiming for green, environmentally friendly agriculture, organic production models in the province have actively applied the principle of "6 no's" (no pesticides; no chemical fertilizers; no growth stimulants; no preservatives; no use of genetically modified seeds; no soil pollution).

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the province currently has over 1,000 hectares of agricultural production according to VietGAP standards; 28 facilities with VietGAP certification in the livestock sector; over 400 facilities applying advanced quality management programs (GMP, SSOP, HACCP...); 14 fruit growing areas, 5 fresh fruit packaging facilities and 9 seafood exporting companies qualified to export to the Chinese market; maintaining 16 certified safe food supply chains with 59 types of products. Some cinnamon growing areas in Dam Ha and Tien Yen districts have been certified as meeting European organic standards by the independent global international certification organization for commodity management and supervision (Control Union Certifications). Up to now, nearly 350 hectares with more than 220 tons of organic cinnamon have been granted export visas and are present in the most demanding markets in Europe, with selling prices ranging from 23,000-25,000 VND/kg (20% higher than regular cinnamon). The model of raising earthworms combined with organic rice cultivation on a scale of 5 hectares in Trung Vuong ward (Uong Bi city) has yielded more than 2 tons of commercial earthworms (an increase of nearly 1 ton compared to natural farming as before), rice yield reached 1.8-2 tons/ha/crop, profit of more than 300 million VND/ha. Production without the use of herbicides, chemical fertilizers, or pesticides has brought many benefits to farmers, helping to stabilize product output.

According to the project "Organic agriculture development in Quang Ninh province to 2025, orientation to 2030", in the coming time, the province will focus on producing organic products that meet standards, helping to expand the product market not only within and outside the province but also to foreign markets. Including demanding markets such as the US, EU, Japan... To achieve this goal, the provincial agricultural sector has a plan to focus on solutions to encourage the production of certified and standard organic products. In particular, in the field of cultivation, focus on building and developing organic vegetables, tubers, fruits, tea, medicinal herbs, and rice products in the localities: Quang Yen, Van Don, Ba Che, Binh Lieu, Hai Ha... Then, delimit and implement the transition phase to organic production for 55 hectares of crop production. In the livestock sector, focus on developing organic livestock and poultry products in Binh Lieu, Tien Yen, Dam Ha and Mong Cai; in which, increase the value of organic livestock products from 10 to 15%.
