On March 14, the Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center - Institute of Geophysics issued a notice about two earthquakes that occurred during the day in Kon Plong district (Kon Tum province).
Specifically, the first earthquake occurred at about 3:18 p.m. with a magnitude of 3.8 on the Richter scale. About 20 minutes later, the locality recorded another earthquake with a magnitude of 2.5 on the Richter scale.
Both earthquakes had a depth of 8.1 km, and the disaster risk level was level 0.
On the afternoon of March 14, Kon Plong district experienced two earthquakes.
The Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center is continuing to monitor these two earthquakes.
Previously, on March 11, Kon Plong district also recorded 3 earthquakes with a magnitude of 2.9 on the Richter scale.
From 2021 to now, Kon Plong district has continuously experienced earthquakes. The highest magnitude earthquake here was 4.7 on the Richter scale, occurring on the afternoon of August 23, 2022.
Experts determined that the earthquake that occurred in Kon Plong district was an earthquake triggered by the activities of hydroelectric reservoirs.
