After many rumors and controversies surrounding the possibility of Blackpink's two concerts being canceled, on July 25, Ms. Vu Thu Ha - Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee, provided information related to the incident.
Accordingly, on June 30, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports issued a document approving the organization of the art program "Blackpink World Tour 2023" at My Dinh National Stadium on the evenings of July 29 and 30. According to Ms. Ha, the Blackpink group's performance on the evening of July 29 had about 36,000 spectators and on July 30 had about 31,000 spectators.
Blackpink's concert is still going on as usual
As soon as the news of Blackpink's two concerts still took place, the group's fans were extremely excited. They breathed a sigh of relief and commented on news sites and forums: "Finally, the group can come to Vietnamese audiences"; "I'm very excited, looking forward to the show"; "The event has drama but the happy ending is fun"; "Fans are happy but ticket brokers are starting to "plague", to stop the habit of holding tickets and raising prices"...
Many opinions say that after all the turmoil, Blackpink ticket brokers will have to deeply discount to be able to sell and recover their capital. Previously, when rumors spread that the show might be canceled, the organizers would refund 70% of the ticket value, fans were worried but the ticket brokers had a chance to recover some of the money spent to hold the tickets. However, the show was still licensed as usual, they had no way to recover their capital, they could only find a way to sell tickets.
The group's ticket office was forced to quickly sell all the tickets it had in order to recover its investment.
In recent days, the market for transferring and trading tickets has been bustling, but most of them are sellers and few are buyers. The reasons given are that buyers are afraid of being cheated, afraid of being charged a higher price than the original price, and many objective factors related to personal finances.
To find buyers, many ticket brokers accept to lower prices, selling lower than the original price in the hope of recouping some of the losses.
The organizers and Blackpink fans are not affected by the situation of the ticket brokers. Because the organizers only need to sell tickets and the fans are welcome to welcome their idols to perform in their country.
Blackpink's major fansites in Vietnam have also invested in projects to welcome the group to perform in Hanoi. These include two 12-meter-high hot air balloons with the words "Vietnam BLACKPINK" and "VBLINKS BLACKPINK" painted in pink, placed on the land opposite My Dinh Stadium on July 29 and 30.
Many projects from fans enthusiastically welcome the group to Hanoi
In parallel, the group's fans also have a project to cover a double-decker bus in pink with Blackpink's image and a free bus tour program in Hanoi during fixed hours or cover the group's image in pink on bicycles parading around the streets near My Dinh Stadium. They also create their own color palette for the members' solo stages...
Blackpink's two shows on July 29 and 30 are expected to attract a large number of fans to Hanoi.
Accommodation, culinary, and tourism activities around the venue are also expected to welcome a large number of visitors over the two nights.
