Kien Giang: 3 more households forced to hand over land for the North-South expressway project

The North-South Expressway project, section through Vinh Thuan district, is 23.2km long, passing through Vinh Phong and Phong Dong communes, affecting 426 households with a total area of ​​over 934,806m2 of land. As of March 18, the land recovery rate reached over 96%.

Vinh Thuan is determined to clear the land to hand over 100% of the land for the North-South expressway project.

The households that were forced to hand over land on March 20 include Mr. NVH's household (land area of ​​4,952m2), Mr. LVT's household (with 4,011.97m2) and Mr. LVT's household (with 4,595.60m2) - in Cai Nhum hamlet, Phong Dong commune, Vinh Thuan district.

Thus, according to the first phase of enforcement plan in 2024, Vinh Thuan district has 10 households subject to enforcement, four households voluntarily handed over the land, three households were enforced on March 19 (area of ​​8,600m2) and three households were enforced on March 20 (area of ​​13,558m2).

According to Mr. Du, there are currently 10 households with 8 houses on residential land (two households in Vinh Phong commune and eight households in Phong Dong commune) that have not yet handed over the land.

Among them, one household has received compensation but has not yet handed over the land, and another household has received a part of the main compensation but has not yet received additional compensation. The remaining 8 households have not agreed to receive compensation according to regulations.

"In the coming time, the working group of Vinh Thuan district will continue to coordinate with the sectors and leaders of hamlets and communes with households affected by land clearance to plan appropriate compensation options for each household, carefully considering the interests of the people.

At the same time, we will focus on propagating and mobilizing people to voluntarily comply with the provisions of the law. Accordingly, there will be appropriate and quick handling, not letting it drag on for a long time, and soon handing over the site to the construction unit according to regulations," Mr. Du affirmed.

The North-South Expressway, eastern section, Can Tho - Ca Mau, is divided into two component projects.

The Can Tho - Hau Giang section of the project is over 37km long. The total investment is over 10,370 billion VND.

The Hau Giang - Ca Mau section of the project is over 73km long, passing through Hau Giang, Bac Lieu, Kien Giang and Ca Mau provinces. The total investment is over 17,152 billion VND.

In the diverging phase, two expressways will be invested with a scale of four lanes, the roadbed width of 17m. In the complete phase, the scale of the two expressways will be increased to 24.75m, the design speed is 100km/h.
