The smart rice farming model, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, is implemented in the districts of Dien Bien, Muong Ang and Tuan Giao with a total area of 86 hectares; of which 53 hectares are in Dien Bien district. The model applies the method of water drainage according to the principle of alternating wet and dry and integrated pest management.
Through field inspection, the working group assessed: The rice model grew and developed well; people strictly followed the technical procedures instructed by agricultural officers.
According to the project description: The smart rice farming model, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, not only helps increase productivity, output and value of rice, protect the environment, but also helps farmers earn more income from selling carbon credits at a price of 20 USD/1 converted carbon credit./.
