Specifically, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Department of Education and Training has just issued a Plan to organize the Ha Nam Province Reading Culture Ambassador Contest in 2024.
Accordingly, the contest is for students from grades 1 to 12 studying at primary, secondary and high schools in the province.
Primary and secondary school students take the same exam, high school students take a separate exam. Candidates have the right to choose one of the two exams of the level they are studying and fully answer the two questions posed in the exam to ensure healthy, clear content, accuracy, information security and relevant legal regulations. Shared books must be legally published in Vietnam.

Each candidate takes the test independently, the entries can be handwritten, typed or made into a video.
In the preliminary round of the contest, the Department of Education and Training of districts, towns and cities from April 2024 to May 10, 2024. The maximum number of selected entries is 20 entries/high school, 100 entries/Department of Education and Training.
For the provincial level, the time to receive entries is from May 10 to 15, 2024. The closing and award ceremony is expected to be held in the third quarter of 2024. The Organizing Committee will select the 6 best entries to submit to the national final round before July 1, 2024.
Regarding rewards, the Organizing Committee will reward schools and units with the most participating candidates; schools with the most first prize winners, and units that perform well in the preliminary round.
The Organizing Committee also awarded the titles of Outstanding Reading Culture Ambassador, First, Second, Third, and Encouragement to excellent contestants. Awarded thematic prizes: Best Book Review, Best Reading Encouragement Short Story, Most Impressive Reading Culture Development Initiative, Most Impressive Contest Video, Most Impressive Contest Article, and individuals with many contributions to organizing the Contest.
Previously, on April 4, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism officially launched the Reading Culture Ambassador contest in 2024.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has implemented many activities to contribute to building a friendly and convenient reading environment, helping people to access, exploit and use information and knowledge effectively. A typical example is the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest, which was launched nationwide in 2019 and has achieved impressive successes.
Through 4 times of organization, from 2019 - 2022, the contest has attracted more than 3.5 million contestants. The number of contestants increased sharply with each organization, partly affirming the influence of the contest.
Following that success, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized the 2024 Reading Culture Ambassador Contest nationwide, for 2 groups of subjects: Primary and secondary school students and high school and university students. The test questions were newly designed to promote the thinking ability and creativity of each group of candidates. The entries were presented in Vietnamese and used written or video formats, with the application of information technology encouraged.
The preliminary round of the contest will be organized by libraries, units under the General Department of Politics (Ministry of National Defense), the Vietnam Association of the Blind, provinces/cities and universities/academies, starting from April; select outstanding entries to send to the Organizing Committee in July for judging and awarding the final round. The national final round will take place in October and the contest's closing ceremony is expected to be held in Viet Tri City, Phu Tho.
The Organizing Committee requests that agencies, units, localities, and accompanying units have a specific and effective plan to organize the preliminary round, implement it on schedule and with the set quality; strengthen strong coordination between the cultural sector - which has the leading role - and other sectors to mobilize an increase in the number of candidates and accompanying units to participate in supporting and sponsoring the contest.
