This morning, August 24, the People's Committee of Dien Ban town held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Northern Ring Road project of Quang Nam province. Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Phan Viet Cuong and comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee.
According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ha - Vice Chairman of Dien Ban Town People's Committee, in general, the northern belt road of Quang Nam province is planned to be about 18.7km long; of which the section through Da Nang city is 1.2km long, the section through Quang Nam province is 17.5km long.
The construction route will connect traffic smoothly from National Highway 14B to Lac Long Quan Street (Dien Ban town), contributing to completing the East-West traffic axis of the economic-urban corridor, connecting Nam Giang Border Gate Economic Zone with Da Nang City and the coastal area of Northern Quang Nam.
At the same time, renovate and create land funds to develop urban space in the north of Quang Nam province and distribute population, form new urban areas in the north, reduce population density in the central area of the town; promote socio-economic development in the western area of Dien Ban; meet future transportation needs and reduce traffic volume for DT609 route, the southern belt of Da Nang city.
In recent times, Da Nang City and Quang Nam Province have promoted investment and put into operation important projects such as the Vo Chi Cong coastal road, Dien Nam - Dien Ngoc Industrial Park and Urban Area, Hoi An City planning, the main street axis DT603 - DT607, Cua Dai Bridge, the southern belt road axis of Da Nang City...
The Northern Belt Road Project of Quang Nam province has started construction, creating a premise for seamless connection from National Highway 14B to the eastern coastal area passing through Dien Ban town.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Nam Hung said that the construction of the road is part of the strategy and plan to implement the Resolution of the 22nd Provincial Party Congress, and at the same time demonstrates the vision and orientation of the province. Therefore, the implementation process has been carried out very resolutely by all levels and sectors.
“In addition to facilitating people’s trade and travel activities, the more important thing is to create new momentum and resources for socio-economic development of localities from the west to the east and Quang Nam with Da Nang City. At the same time, it also shows the close brotherly affection between Quang Nam province and Da Nang City” - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Tran Nam Hung said.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Nam Hung proposed that the People's Committee of Dien Ban town study spatial planning, create land funds on both sides of the road to orient the development of industry, trade - services, urban areas... to promote local economic development, contributing to creating new momentum for the development of the northern region of Quang Nam province in the coming years.
The Northern Ring Road Project of Quang Nam province was decided on investment policy by the Provincial People's Council in Resolutions No. 23 dated April 19, 2021 and No. 55 dated July 22, 2021; the Provincial People's Committee approved the project in Decision No. 1312 dated May 16, 2022 and approved adjustments and supplements in Decision No. 1960 dated September 18, 2023.
The total investment of the project is 498 billion VND, of which the central budget is 398 billion VND and the provincial budget is 100 billion VND. Construction time is 770 days, striving to complete in the fourth quarter of 2025.
